      • Plastic and wooden pushpins are used to hang up decorations and paper in the toddler rooms. Please remove and replace as necessary to avoid potential chances of toddlers swallowing thumbtacks or pushpins.

    • 22. Is the plumbing system adequate and being properly maintained (Non-Critical)?
      • It was observed that the handwashing sinks in most of the rooms (cougar, grizzly, elk, etc.) either had hot water or cold water available. When hot and cold water lines were adjusted by the operator, the handwashing sink temperature changed, but went from only hot to only cold or vice versa. Please ensure corrective actions are taken and temperature of the water is acceptable.

      • A child was observed going into the washroom and washing their hands without the use of soap. Informed operator who had child rewash their hands properly. Please ensure hands are properly washed with staff supervising.

      • A diapering changing pad was observed to be leaning against the toilet in the diapering station area. Please ensure all diapering changing pads are stored in a clean and sanitary condition.

      • The temperature in the facility was at 19.5C. Please ensure that the minimum temperature requirement of 20C can be met for all rooms.
    • 31. Are general nuisance conditions, other than those noted in other violations, being prevented at this child care facility (Critical)?
      • The baby chairs used in the facility was observed to not have a safety belt installed to prevent falling. Please ensure chairs have adequate protection from falls.

      • No paper towels were available in the washroom by the play area. Please ensure paper towels are available..

      • The temperature of the hot water measured for the handsinks was too hot (55C). Please ensure the temperature is lowered and not hotter than 49C.
