      • - A floor tile in Toddler room 2 outside the kitchen area is in disrepair. Please ensure the floor tile is repaired to allow for adequate cleaning and to minimize further deterioration of the flooring material.

      • - 2 bottles of bleach solution were kept on the shelf of the washroom where children could easily access them.A staff member was asked to keep all the bottles with chemicals in a designated storage area where children could not access them.

      • - A floor tile in Toddler room 2 outside the kitchen area is in disrepair. Please ensure the floor tile is repaired to allow for adequate cleaning and to minimize further deterioration of the flooring material.
    • 09. Are properly operating hand washing sink(s) available in suitable location(s), and properly stocked with handwashing supplies?
      • - The handwashing sink located in the far right of the washroom in the toddler 2 room was inaccessible. A piece of wood, taped over the sink basin and lacking a cleanable surface, was observed.The operator was instructed to clear the handwashing sink of the wooden cardboard, refrain from using taped items that are not easily cleanable, and ensure that access to designated handwashing sinks remains unobstructed.

      • (X) Two mats in Toddler room 2 were ripped.Make sure they are changed.(X) Cubicles in the OSC room have accumulation of dust. Make sure they are cleaned regularly.(X) There was accumulated dust and debris observed in the OSC room near the window. Make sure the area is regularly cleaned.
    • 25. Are there adequate storage areas sufficient for the operation of the facility?
      • - Toddler room 1: Bibs hung above the handwashing sink. Bibs could be splashed with dirty water while washing hands. It is advised to keep them somewhere where they could not be contaminate
    • 32. Are general nuisance conditions, other than those noted in other violations, being prevented at this child care facility (Non-Critical)?
      • Toddler room 2: Paints and glitters that indicated to be used by age 3+ or 6+ were stored in a room with younger children.Make sure only age-appropriate items are kept in designated rooms.

    • 03. Are clients at this facility being protected from hazards (Critical)?
      • 1. The bleach sanitizer spray bottles at the infant diaper change station and in the bathroom were not properly labelled. Ensure all chemical spray bottles are properly labelled with the chemical name and concentration.
    • 06. Are proper protocols being followed in regards to client care?
      • 1. There was a buildup of debris under the diaper change mat at the diaper change station. Ensure diaper mats are lifted and the area under them are cleaned and sanitized on a regular basis.

      • 1. The ceiling tile above the baby room was water stained. Operator confirmed this is from a past leak. Ensure a new ceiling tile is installed.
    • 10. Is a properly supplied first aid kit provided and readily available?
      • 1. The alcohol wipes in the first aid kit were expired (Expiry date: 07/2022)
