    • 13. Is single-use or uncleanable equipment being used as intended (Critical)?
      • There were wooden foot files in the pedicure station that were being cleaned and disinfected and reused. These foot files cannot be properly cleaned and disinfected. Remove these foot files.
    • 20. Is reusable equipment disinfected properly?
      • 1. Log for testing high level disinfectant was not kept up to date. Sticker on box indicated solution had been last changed Aril 6, 2026. Ensure high level disinfectant is tested daily, and test results are tracked. Follow manufacturer's instructions for use for re-use period (14 days). 2. Test strips for high level disinfectant were expired. Obtain new test strips for high level disinfectant.3. Metal foot grater foot files were not being properly disinfected. These must be soaked in high level disinfectant following cleaning. Ensure there is a suitable container for this, and staff are trained in how to properly disinfect these.

    • 10. Is cleansing and antisepsis of skin and mucous membrane performed in accordance to written procedures and are suitable products being used?
      • Witch hazel was being used prior to microneedling, microblading etc. Ensure an antiseptic with a DIN or NPN is used prior to services that puncture skin.
    • 12. Are personal services workers at the facility maintaining client records and where applicable, sterility documentation corresponding to that client?
      • Sterility assurance documentation (lot number and expiration date) of sterile equipment was not tracked with client details. Operator will ensure that lot number and expiration date are tracked on client file for all sterile equipment.
    • 26. Are cosmetic products appropriate for their intended use and being handled properly?
      • Ensure all bottles in facility are labelled so their contents are known. There were several bottles where labels had come off or not been applied.
