      • Temperature logs were not being maintained at the time of the inspection. Please ensure daily temperature checks are recorded for all refrigeration units and hot-holding units (if applicable). Recommend keeping a copy of the template posted on the unit itself for easier completion/trackability.
    • 13. Are properly operating hand washing sink(s) accessible to food handlers, located in suitable areas, and stocked with appropriate hand washing supplies?
      • Continues: A hand sink is still not present in the back food preparation area. The hand sink at the front service area is being used for handwashing.Please ensure a dedicated hand sink is installed in the back kitchen area.
    • 21. Is the facility properly constructed and maintained in a state of good repair to allow for the safe and sanitary handling of food?
      • As discussed, please consult fire codes to determine the ventilation requirements for the frying area, and whether the commercial vent hood purchased is adequate.

      • Temperature logs were not being maintained at the time of the inspection. Please ensure daily temperature checks are recorded for all refrigeration units and hot-holding units (if applicable).
    • 07. Do food handlers ensure that food is protected from contamination (unless noted elsewhere)(Critical)?
      • Please ensure egg cartons are placed on the bottom shelf of the cooler (below any produce and/or ready-to-eat foods).
    • 10. Are food temperatures during storage and processing being controlled to maximize food safety?
      • Please monitor the sliding-door cooler containing milk products, located in the front serving area, as it was measured at 6C during the inspection.While this may be due to frequent door openings, staff were asked to place the milk products further back in the unit and adjust the cooler settings as needed to maintain temperatures at or below 4C.
    • 13. Are properly operating hand washing sink(s) accessible to food handlers, located in suitable areas, and stocked with appropriate hand washing supplies?
      • Continues: A hand sink is still not present in the back food preparation area. The hand sink at the front service area is being used for handwashing.Please ensure a dedicated hand sink is installed in the back kitchen area by the end of October, 2025. Inform me if an extension is needed on this.

      • Hand sink is available and stocked with supplies at the front service are at entry to the food preparation area.*** Please ensure paper towel is provided from a dispenser at the hand sink. ***

      • A hand sink is not present in the food preparation area. Due to the location of the hand sink in the front service area, this will be temporarily acceptable until a hand sink can be installed in the food prep area. This means staff will need to make concerted effort to ensure staff are washing hands. *** Please ensure a hand sink is installed in the food preparation area - must be installed by Mar 31, 2025. ***
    • 19. Does the facility have a valid permit and does the facility operate in compliance with the conditions of that permit, or is the facility awaiting approval prior to operation?
      • The facility was found to be operating without a valid food handling permit. The existing permit was expired and was issued in the name of OMG Cafe. As the facility name and ownership group changed a new permit application is required.Approval to operate is pending permit application being submitted. The results of this inspection not the need for restrictions on permit. The restrictions are as follows:~ Intermediate food handling only.~ Single service customer utensils only due to limited dishwashing.
