Inspection summary

Beauty By Bennett has been inspected once by Alberta Health Services (Environmental Public Health), on July 27, 2026. The most recent inspection, on July 27, 2026, recorded 3 infractions.

In the past 12 months there was 1 inspection with 3 infractions recorded. All recorded findings relate to upkeep, equipment or paperwork rather than direct infection-control risks to clients.

What these findings mean

Health authorities word their findings differently, so we group them by what they mean for clients. In personal service settings like salons, spas and tattoo studios, higher-risk findings are the ones that could spread infection from one client to the next, through broken skin, blood or instruments that were not properly cleaned and sterilized.

  • Permits, records and postingLower risk

Operating permits, client records, sterilization logs and required signage. Client records matter because they let health officials contact people if an infection is linked to the business.

Recorded 2 times on July 27, 2026. For example: Are facility-specific written procedures established to adequately describe safe and sanitary practices?

  • Other findingsLower risk

Findings that do not fit the categories above, such as follow-ups that confirm an earlier violation was corrected, or requirements specific to this type of facility.

Recorded once on July 27, 2026. For example: Are cosmetic products appropriate for their intended use and being handled properly?

  1. Initial Inspection

    3 infractions

    • 03. Are facility-specific written procedures established to adequately describe safe and sanitary practices?
      • Written procedures for dual sink use were not present at the time of the inspection, but a template was provided to the operator by the PHI trainee, with instructions for how it could be filled out. Please ensure that the procedure is followed every time a sink is used for multiple purposes (e.g., hand-washing and equipment reprocessing, such as makeup brush cleaning), and that the sink is cleaned and decontaminated every time that the sink is used for these separate tasks. It was observed that scissors, clippers, or any sharp tools were absent for hairstyling (clips, combs, and other aesthetic tools only), so a procedure for accidental skin cuts was not required.
    • 04. Are business-specific written procedures established to adequately describe safe and sanitary practices in a mobile business?
      • Detailed business-specific written procedures were not available at the time of inspection describing relevant safe and sanitary practices for mobile businesses. This included written procedures for hand hygiene, transportation, handling of single-use equipment, reprocessing of reusable equipment (e.g., makeup brushes), cleaning of client service areas, and storage of equipment. Please ensure you have the following written procedures (including as a PDF or document on your phone) with you any time you are rendering mobile services:1. Hand hygiene (e.g., when you handwash onsite, how, what hand sanitizer product, etc.).2. Transportation, including how you ensure the separation of clean from contaminated supplies and equipment (e.g., keeping disposables in a sealed bag separate from used, how you keep clean brushes separate from used, etc.).3. Handling of single-use, porous, and uncleanable equipment (e.g., what happens to applicators and sponges after each customer, etc.).4. Cleaning and disinfection of client service areas (e.g., how you clean up and disinfect surfaces onsite, and with what cleaners/disinfectants).5. Storage at a base of operations (e.g., how brushes, makeup, and hair supplies are stored at the home so that they are not contaminated).6. Reprocessing of reusable equipment (e.g., how you clean brushes once you are at home, what products you use, and the general procedure). Please send me these written procedures in a document by email as soon as you can.
    • 26. Are cosmetic products appropriate for their intended use and being handled properly?
      • Makeup products were used appropriately and for their intended purpose, but labelling containing the entire ingredients list and manufacturer instructions for use was only available for some of the products used. For example, 'Beauty of Joseon' skincare products were present with labelling written in Korean only so that the ingredients list and manufacturer instructions for use were not easily and immediately understandable. Please have labels for all products used that have full ingredients lists, as well as manufacturer instructions for use available with you on-site where the personal services are being performed.
