When the whirlpool jets were turned on, there was a significant amount of foaming and noticeable chlorine odour indicating a high amount of combined chlorine in the basin.COMPLETE THE FOLLOWING:1. Reduce the combined chlorine to the lowest level possible. It is recommended to add more fresh water to the basin more often.

      • **CORRECTED**1. Mechanical room: The valve for the main drain was fully opened. The valve was adjusted to 30% during the inspection.COMPLETE THE FOLLOWING:1. Valves from main drains should be opened no more than 30% to increase flow of water through the skimmers as the top portion of pool water contains the highest amount of contaminants.

The calculated minimum flow rate for the pool is 60 GPM. - Discussed with the Operator and they will be switching the jet pump (2-horsepower) with the recirculation pump (1.5-horsepower) to obtain the previous flow rate. The facility used to have the 2-horsepower pump for the recirculation system.COMPLETE THE FOLLOWING:1. Ensure the flow rate is maintained between 60 - 61 GPM for adequate circulation and disinfection.

Gaps observed between the wall drain covers and basin wall. - The manufacturer instructions state that "after installation of fittings, if a gap exists between the pool finish and base of cover it must be filled in to avoid finger or other entrapment"COMPLETE THE FOLLOWING:1. Fill gap between the pool finish and cover to prevent entrapment hazards.
