    • 03. Are clients at this facility being protected from hazards (Critical)?
      • A bottle of windex was on bathroom counter accessible to children. This was moved during the inspection. Ensure all chemicals are stored out of reach of children.
    • 17. Is the facility and equipment being maintained in a suitable manner (Critical)?
      • Diapering pad in main room bathroom was torn and no longer impervious to moisture. Replace and ensure diapering pads are always smooth, non-porous and easy to clean.
    • 25. Are there adequate storage areas sufficient for the operation of the facility?
      • In baby room, a tray of bottles and soothers was stored under the paper towel dispenser. This was moved during the inspection. Ensure these items are stored away from handwashing area to prevent contamination.
    • 27. Are proper measures being taken to ensure that vermin do not enter or exist in the facility (Non-Critical)?
      • There was a rip in the insect screen in baby room window. Repair screen.

      • Walls and floors in washroom in main room were dirty. Please thoroughly clean walls and floors and ensure they are added to a regular cleaning schedule.
    • 20. Are indoor play areas and equipment sufficient and being properly maintained to ensure client safety (Non-Critical)?
      • Toys in infant room were being washed in hand wash sink. Toy washing cannot occur in diapering handwash sink. Please ensure toys from this room are washed in kitchen sink or dishwasher.
    • 25. Are there adequate storage areas sufficient for the operation of the facility?
      • Extra clothing and shoes were stored in staff washroom. Please remove these items from washroom.

    • 04. Are clients at this facility being protected from hazards (Non-Critical)?
      • Some electrical outlets in the baby room were missing covers. Please place covers on outlets to prevent electrocution.
    • 08. Is this facility properly constructed (Non-Critical)?
      • Duct tape was being used to secure area rugs. Please remove duct tape as it makes the floors difficult to clean and can harbour dirt.
    • 10. Is a properly supplied first aid kit provided and readily available?
      • Alcohol wipes on-site were expired and there was no CPR barrier in first aid kit. Please review list sent in email and ensure first aid kit is fully stocked.
