      • 1. Laundry machines had build-up of dust and debris.Please wipe down the machines.2. Infant 2 room: The diapering mat was ripped making it difficult to sanitize properly.It was replaced during the inspection.
    • 22. Is the plumbing system adequate and being properly maintained (Non-Critical)?
      • 1. The diapering handwashing sink located in infant 1 room and infant 3 room were loose.The faucet was also spraying water outside of the sink basin making it difficult to use.Please repair/replace the faucet to encourage staff to use it after diapering children.

      • One of the handwashing sinks in the bathroom designated for the kindergarten classroom is not operational. Please repair the handwashing sink.
    • 10. Is a properly supplied first aid kit provided and readily available?
      • The alcohol swabs in the first aid kit were expired. Expiry: 04/2024. Please replace the alcohol swabs.

      • Some of the seashells located in the toy area were cracked and in disrepair. The container was removed during the inspection.

    • 05. Are communicable diseases at this facility being properly managed?
      • Bleach disinfectant in Infant 2 was under 500ppm. Concentration was measured with both facility's and inspector's test strips. Please ensure bleach solution is at 1000ppm to disinfect all surfaces until outbreak is declared over. Please clean and re-disinfect all toys and surfaces.
    • 09. Are properly operating hand washing sink(s) available in suitable location(s), and properly stocked with handwashing supplies?
      • The hand washing station in Toddler 3 was not easily accessible as it was blocked by two stepping stools and mops. The operator had immediately declutter the area making the hand washing station accessible, following the inspection. Photo evidence was provided by Center Director.

      • A used, dirty cloth was found in the laundry hamper labeled 'Clean.' The hamper was discarded for wash at time of inspection. It was advised that the operator consider implementing a color-coding system for the hampers to improve visibility and more clearly differentiate between clean and dirty items.

      • 1. All the affected classrooms were not equipped with the appropriate disinfectant for outbreak use.2. Mop heads were washed and air dried in the sink that is used for cleaning toys and hand washing or kept in a container of water.3. Costumes and soft toys were used in one of the affected rooms. 4. The hamper designated for clean clothing in the laundry was dirty in the bottom. 1. DURING OUTBREAK, ALL SURFACES IN COMMON AREAS MUST BE DISINFECTED WITH APPROVED DISINFECTANT (E.G. 1000PPM BLEACH SOLUTION) MIX 1/3 CUP BLEACH (5%) PER LITER OF WATER. FOLLOW WIPE TWICE METHOD AND INCREASE FREQUENCY OF CLEANING AND DISINFECTING.2. MOP HEADS MUST BE CLEANED AND DISINFECTED AT LEAST ONCE DAILY AND AS NEEDED. PROVIDE A LABELED CONTAINER FOR STORING DIRTY MOP HEADS FOR LAUNDERING WITH HOT HEAT CYCLE. DO NOT USE HAND WASHING AND TOY WASHING SINK FOR CLEANING MOP HEADS. USE THE JANITORIAL SINK AVAILABLE FOR THIS PURPOSE. 3. REMOVE COSTUMES AND OTHER SOFT TOYS THAT ARE NOT EASILY CLEANABLE DURING OUTBREAK.4. PROVIDE AND LABEL BASKETS FOR TRANSFERRING CLEAN LAUNDRY BACK TO THE CLASSROOM. PROVIDE AND LABEL RECEPTACLES THAT ARE USE FOR STORING DIRTY LAUNDRY. CLEAN AND DISINFECT THESE BASKETS DAILY.
