      • Facility does not have written procedures for:1. The cleansing of skin and mucous membrane (for tattooing and waxing)2. The application of antiseptic products (for tattooing)3. Post-service care for personal services that involve puncturing the skin or mucous membrane (for tattooing)4. Client care in the event of an accidental skin cut or puncture5. Decontamination of sink that will be used for both handwashing and equipment reprocessing6. Operating and maintaining a mobile sink
    • 11. Is post-service care provided by personal service workers following any personal service or accident where a client's skin or mucous membrane is cut or punctured during a personal service, or when energy-emitting equipment is used?
      • Owners/operators did not have a copy of written care instructions for post tattoo service.You must provide clients with both verbal and written care instructions following any personal service that punctures the skin or mucous membrane (such as tattooing)
    • 12. Are personal services workers at the facility maintaining client records and where applicable, sterility documentation corresponding to that client?
      • Facility did not have a copy of client record sheet available for review (for tattooing). Please ensure client records for personal services that use critical equipment (such as tattooing) are maintained and kept accessible for review for a period of two years.Client records must include:- Full client name- Contact information of client- Date(s) of personal service- Description of personal service- Name of personal services worker who provided the personal service.- Sterility assurance documentation from all critical equipment purchased as sterile that is used in a personal service must be kept with that client’s records (such as tattoo needle information - including expiry dates and lot numbers).

      • Facility does not have sufficient number/sized waste bins in client service area.
    • 31. Are sinks accessible and used appropriately for the personal services provided?
      • A mobile sink was proposed to be used to reprocess (clean/disinfect) semi-critical equipment (such as lash tweezers). This does not meet the Personal Services Regulation/Standards.Advised owners/operators to not provide lash services until an acceptable sink is available for reprocessing semi-critical equipment (such as lash tweezers).Owners/operators mentioned they are planning to move to another room within the same building that has a plumbed in sink.
