5 - 12 Castleridge Drive NE Calgary AB T3J 1V4 · Personal Services
Inspection summary
Castleridge Health Centre has been inspected 3 times by Alberta Health Services (Environmental Public Health) since February 8, 2024. The most recent inspection, on October 2, 2026, found no infractions.
2 of 3 inspections on record found no infractions at all. In the past 12 months there were 2 inspections with 3 infractions recorded. All recorded findings relate to upkeep, equipment or paperwork rather than direct infection-control risks to clients.
What these findings mean
Health authorities word their findings differently, so we group them by what they mean for clients. In personal service settings like salons, spas and tattoo studios, higher-risk findings are the ones that could spread infection from one client to the next, through broken skin, blood or instruments that were not properly cleaned and sterilized.
Equipment and utensilsLower risk
Instruments, chairs, tables and footbaths must be made of materials that can be cleaned, kept in good repair and stored so they stay clean. Single-use items such as nail files, buffers, razors and needles must be thrown away after each client.
Recorded 2 times on September 20, 2026. For example:
Is reusable equipment handled and stored properly (Non-Critical)?
Other findingsLower risk
Findings that do not fit the categories above, such as follow-ups that confirm an earlier violation was corrected, or requirements specific to this type of facility.
Recorded once on September 20, 2026. For example:
Are cosmetic products appropriate for their intended use and being handled properly?

- 16. Is reusable equipment handled and stored properly (Non-Critical)?
- It was observed that clean laundered bed coverings were being stored underneath the handwashing/reprocessing sink alongside chemical products. This storage practice may result in contamination of clean linens from moisture, splashes or chemical exposure. Ensure all clean laundered bed coverings are stored in a clean, dry and protected area separate from handwashing/reprocessing sinks and chemical storage to maintain their cleanliness until use.
- 20. Is reusable equipment disinfected properly?
- It was observed that 70% alcohol spray was being used to disinfect device handles, machines and environmental surfaces. While alcohol may provide limited disinfecting properties, it is not the preferred product for routine environmental surface disinfection. Colorox wipes and Cavicide wipes were also available on-site and are a more appropriate option for disinfecting surfaces and equipment handles when used according to the manufacturer's instructions.Issue was discussed with the operator and alcohol spray bottle was removed from services. Ensure a Health Canada-approved low-level disinfectant with a DIN is available to meet all surface disinfection needs, including situations where a spray disinfectant is required.
- 26. Are cosmetic products appropriate for their intended use and being handled properly?
- It was observed during the inspection that 1. It was observed that multiple expired products were being used in the Botox treatment room, including syringes, blades, needles, bandages and aerosol kits. The expired items had expiry dates ranging from 2021 to August 2026. Use of expired medical supplies may compromise product integrity, effectiveness, sterility and client safety.2. The sodium chloride vials available in the treatment room for client care had exceeded their expiry dates. The use of expired solutions may affect product quality, sterility and client safety. 3. Sterile water was not available for Botox reconstitution at the time of inspection. Sterile diluent must be available and used in accordance with the manufacturer’s instructions when preparing Botox for administration. The absence of sterile water may compromise proper product preparation and increase the risk of contamination. Corrective actions1. Remove and properly discard all expired products and ensure only unexpired supplies are available for use and stored in the treatment room.2.Remove and properly dispose of all expired sodium chloride vials immediately and ensure only unexpired products are available for use in the treatment room.3. Make sure that appropriate sterile diluent is readily available and used for all Botox reconstitution procedures.
- 16. Is reusable equipment handled and stored properly (Non-Critical)?
