    • 18. Is the facility and equipment being maintained in a suitable manner (Non-Critical)?
      • 1) Gaps were observed in the ceiling tiles. - Repair/ replace the ceiling tiles.2) Caulking was coming off from behind the handwashing sink in the washroom.- Re-caulk the handwashing sink. 3) Shelf of handwashing sink in the pre-school room had raw wood exposed.- Repair the shelf so that it is smooth, easy to clean and non-absorbent to moisture.
    • 32. Are general nuisance conditions, other than those noted in other violations, being prevented at this child care facility (Non-Critical)?
      • The bleach sanitizer was measured at 0 ppm. - The operator re-made the bleach sanitizer, and it was measured at 100 ppm. Ensure that the bleach sanitizer is maintained at 100 ppm.
    • 32. Are general nuisance conditions, other than those noted in other violations, being prevented at this child care facility (Non-Critical)?
      • No test strips were available. - Ensure to have test strips to test the bleach concentration.

    • 10. Is a properly supplied first aid kit provided and readily available?
      • There was no first aid kit in the childcare room. The operator indicated that they were using the first aid kit in the main office of the community center, and that a new first aid kit for the childcare room has been purchased. Please ensure that a first aid kit is easily accessible at all times. That way, in the case of an incident where first aid supplies are needed, staff members are not required to go to another room in the building to access the required supplies.
    • 29. Are washrooms / bathing facilities properly constructed, maintained and supplied (Non-Critical)?
      • The floors along the baseboards, and walls were dirty and should be cleaned. There was also a buildup of soap and debris on the soap dispenser in one of the washrooms.Please clean the specified areas and ensure that washroom facilities are kept clean and well maintained.
