    • 209 - Food not protected from contamination [s. 12(a)]
      • Observation: Various implements used a scoops are left in product for ongoing use including coffee tins. (Public Health Significance) Improper scoops and scoop storage exposes items to bare hand contact and potential contamination.
      • Corrective Action: Store scoops so that foods are not exposed to the handles or bare hand contact. Store food scoops in a sanitary manner and clean and sanitize them regularly.
    • 301 - Critical Equipment/utensils/food contact surfaces not maintained in sanitary condition [s. 17(1)]
      • Observation: A chest freezer had ice buildup. Ice formed in freezer units may contain microbes that can contaminate food.
      • Corrective Action: Ensure freezer units are defrosted, cleaned and sanitized every three months or when the ice build up is in excess.
    • 308 - Repeat Equipment/utensils/food contact surfaces are not in good working order [s. 16(b)]
      • Observation: (CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION) Wooden spoons and a cutting board were cracked and worn such that it would not be possible to clean and sanitize properly and pieces of the equipment may contaminate the food.
      • Corrective Action: Inspect all utensils and wares for excess wear that may contaminate food. Discard worn equipment and replace the items. The operator throw out the worn items during the inspection.
