- 19. Are indoor play areas and equipment sufficient and being properly maintained to ensure client safety (Critical)?
- *Observed the play equipment that was being used when child became injured. Structure is located on gymnastics mats. Structure is about 31inches in height off the ground, with the barrier being about 13.25 inches from the platform. Slide portion is fairly steep and doesn't put an individual into a seated position at the end of the slide. Recommend removing the slide in question which would also allow more space around equipment in the area. Children were observed to be using the slide inappropriately, which supervision was able to correct at the time. Would recommend that staff discuss with the children prior to entering the gym on appropriate use of equipment and would suggest removing some of the equipment to create more space for each piece and looking to upgrade some equipment that help re-enforce how equipment is to be used.
