    • 20. Do food handlers at the facility have adequate food safety training?
      • At the time of the inspection, the food safety training certificate was requested for and sent over the operator's phone while the inspectors were still available on site. This was however not a food safety training in any of the present food handler's name. There were 6 or more food handlers within the kitchen at the time of the inspection.PHI informed the operator that it was required that at least one of the food handlers present at any given time should have an adequate food safety training because they were more than 5 present.

      • Multiple staff did not have hair control measures. Manager made everyone put on a hair net. PHI emphasized the importance of hair control.

      • Employee hand washing sink was not equipped with paper towel. Corrective Action: Ensure that the paper towel dispenser for the hand washing sink is replenished.
    • 19. Does the facility have a valid permit and does the facility operate in compliance with the conditions of that permit, or is the facility awaiting approval prior to operation?
      • Food handling permit displayed in the front service area expired March 21, 2025. Corrective Action: A valid (current) permit must be displayed in view of the public
    • 21. Is the facility properly constructed and maintained in a state of good repair to allow for the safe and sanitary handling of food?
      • Grease buildup was observed on the exhaust hood, which is overdue for servicing. Corrective Action: Please have the exhaust hood serviced.

      • 1. A tray of frozen desserts was found uncovered in the freezer. Operator was made aware and had the food items covered during the inspection. 2. Utensils were being stored in an unsanitary manner by the drive-thru window. Staff rearranged the utensils to be in a sanitary manner during the inspection.
    • 13. Are properly operating hand washing sink(s) accessible to food handlers, located in suitable areas, and stocked with appropriate hand washing supplies?
      • Employee hand washing sink was not equipped with paper towel. Corrective Action: Ensure that the paper towel dispenser for the hand washing sink is replenished.
    • 16. Is the facility free of unapproved animals, vermin and/or insects (unless noted elsewhere), and maintained to prevent the entry or harbourage of pests?
      • Physical copies of pest control records were not available onsite. Corrective Action: Please keep physical copies of pest control records onsite.
    • 19. Does the facility have a valid permit and does the facility operate in compliance with the conditions of that permit, or is the facility awaiting approval prior to operation?

      • It was observed that the handle for the sink near the upright freezers was missing. Properly operating Hand sink is critical to ensure proper hand hygienePlease make sure that indicated sink handle is replaced.Note: One of the hand sink near the drive thru window was not operational. Another sink in the kitchen area was being used.
    • 16. Is the facility free of unapproved animals, vermin and/or insects (unless noted elsewhere), and maintained to prevent the entry or harbourage of pests?
      • It was observed that back exit door of the facility was not properly sealed.Manager mentioned that the weather stripping was repaired recently.Please note that properly sealed entrance and exit door are critical to prevent the entry of pests.Please update once the door repair is complete.
    • 21. Is the facility properly constructed and maintained in a state of good repair to allow for the safe and sanitary handling of food?
      • The pipe leading to the manual dishwasher was having minor leak issues.Please repair the pipe to avoid water pooling.
    • 23. Is the facility maintained in a clean and sanitary condition?
      • One of the stall in the men washroom was not in working condition, the indicated stall was cordoned off until repairs are complete.Please update PHI, once repairs are complete.

    • 13. Are properly operating hand washing sink(s) accessible to food handlers, located in suitable areas, and stocked with appropriate hand washing supplies?
      • Informed by the Shift Supervisor that the hand washing station nearest the front counter area is currently leaking and have ordered the necessary parts to repair the station. More than likely, the parts will arrive early next week and will then need to be installed by a licensed plumber.Once this task is completed and hand washing sink is operational and leak-free, please take a photograph of the repaired hand sink and email back to our Department for our review and approval.In the interim, there are other hand washing stations in the kitchen facility that can be utilized by Staff for hand washing purposes.

      • Hand sink must be free from materials and only used for washing hands.Paper towel must be stored in a dispenser.

      • There is a large gap in the bottom of the rear door to the premise. This must be sealed to prevent pest and rodents from entering the facility

      • 1) A build-up of dust, debris, grease, and/or food particles was observed on the following surfaces:a) walk-in cooler and freezer floors b) below dry storage racks near dishwasher area and near the walk-in cooler and freezer area c) Below equipment in ice-cream areaPlease ensure these areas are thoroughly cleaned and sanitized and maintained in a clean and sanitary manner. 2) Cleaning logs were available but were not up to date. Please ensure these are updated on a routine basis.
