      • Bleach/chlorine sanitizer was measured at 500ppm with bleach/chlorine test strips. Ensure that during gastrointestinal outbreaks, bleach/chlorine sanitizer is maintained at 1000ppm. The operator prepared a 1000ppm bleach/chlorine sanitizer during the inspection.

    • 05. Are communicable diseases at this facility being properly managed?
      • (1) Some items that cannot be easily cleaned and disinfected were still out and in use in the rooms such as books (with torn and broken bindings), large rocking chair cushions, play cubes with tape that had curling/lifting edges, wicker baskets, cushions with worn out edges, play strollers with fabric seats (fabric cannot be removed from the toy for washing), fabric draped on shelf next to the Toddler washroom, play area curtain.** During the outbreak do not use items that cannot be easily washed and disinfected. ** Remove shared items such as craft supplies, books and puzzles that cannot be cleaned and disinfected.

      • (1) There were no chlorine test strips available on site. ** Ensure chlorine test strips are available that can measure 100 ppm and up to 1000 ppm.
    • 09. Are properly operating hand washing sink(s) available in suitable location(s), and properly stocked with handwashing supplies?
      • (1) The soap container in the toddler washroom was covered in tape that was curled and/or had lifting edges and could no longer be kept in a clean and sanitary condition. ** Ensure hand soap dispensers are kept in a clean and sanitary condition. Soap containers that are refilled need to be washed, sanitized and dried prior to refilling them.
    • 15. Is laundry being properly handled in a suitable manner?
      • (1) There was a curtain door for the preschool washroom that was constantly being handled by all children and staff entering and leaving the washroom. The material can become easily contaminated and cannot be cleaned between each handling.** Curtain door for the washroom in the preschool room is to be changed daily. Recommend changing the type of material used for the door.
    • 24. Are sleeping supplies and areas sufficient to ensure client safety and comfort (Non-Critical)?
      • (1) Bed linens were not stored separately between uses. They were kept in a bag and in a laundry hamper.

      • Fridge was measuring above 4C at time of inspection.Staff turned the fridge cooler at time of inspection. Please monitor the fridge temperature to be below 4C at all times.
