    • Improper Sanitary Facilities
      • Handwashing sink in the produce department was obstructed by wiping cloths, gloves, and aprons stored inside of it.
      • Staff removed all items from inside the handwashing sink (corrected). Do not obstruct handwashing sinks. Having unobstructed handwashing sinks facilitates proper employee handwashing.
    • Improper Sanitary Facilities
      • Water was shut off at the produce department handwashing sink. Liquid soap and paper towel dispensers were also empty. Employee indicated that they wash their hands in the washroom.
      • Turn on the water and refill both the liquid soap and paper towel dispensers. Ensure all handwashing sinks are fully equipped with hot/cold potable running water, liquid soap, and paper towels at all times. Do not conduct handwashing in the washroom. All handwashing must be done at dedicated handwashing stations in the produce preparation area to prevent potential contamination. **Send a photo of fully equipped handwashing sink to EHO via email by July 23/2026**
    • Inadequate Insect / Rodent Control
      • Dry mouse droppings were found along the wall outside of the walk-in freezer located in the basement storage area.
      • Remove rodent droppings from the location indicated above. Clean and sanitize the impacted area with sanitizing solution. Contact a pest control company to inspect the premises for entry and harbourage sites. Seal any holes or potential entry points greater than 1/4" in size. Continue to monitor for rodent activity on the premises. Comments Routine inspection and complaint follow-up investigation conducted. Details of the complaint were discussed with the store manager, who was aware of the complaint. Package of apple strudel (best before date: July 24, 2026) was opened, strudel was cut open and no mould was found. Manager explained that strudel is received frozen and baked at the Quadra street location then distributed to their various locations. Manager is to inform Quadra street location to begin batch testing apple strudel. Manager was also reminded to check packages when stocking and close to best before dates. - All coolers measured
