    • 04. Does the operator use approved methods for cleaning and sanitizing equipment, utensils, and surfaces?
      • The facility was using vinegar to sanitize food contact surfaces such as the counters and the popcorn machine. Vinegar does not adequately sanitize and either a 100ppm bleach (chlorine) solution or a 200ppm Quat solution must be used. Using household bleach mix one to two tablespoons (½ - 1 ounce) bleach into 1 gallon water to make a 100ppm bleach solution.
    • 12. Are there adequate and properly operating dish washing facilities to effectively clean and sanitize equipment and utensils (unless noted elsewhere)(Non-Critical)?
      • Test strips must be available for testing the concentration of the surface sanitizer and the dishwashing sanitizer. If using a bleach sanitizer than bleach (chlorine) test strips must be obtained. If using a Quat solution, then Quat test strips must be obtained. Please obtain the appropriate test strips for the sanitizer you will be using.
    • 16. Is the facility free of unapproved animals, vermin and/or insects (unless noted elsewhere), and maintained to prevent the entry or harbourage of pests?
      • 1) Mouse droppings were observed under the front service counters and in the back storage room. Please safely clean the mouse droppings and sanitize the areas. 2) Please implement a pest control program (place traps and monitor for activity) to abate the pest issue.As well please keep record of the activity and monitoring being done.
    • 19. Does the facility have a valid permit and does the facility operate in compliance with the conditions of that permit, or is the facility awaiting approval prior to operation?
      • The facilities food handling permit was not posted. Please print and post a copy of your valid 2023 food handling permit in a location that is visible to the public.
