    • 08. Is this facility properly constructed (Non-Critical)?
      • Several walls noted to have chipped paint. It appears that renovation has been started to refresh the paint. Please ensure all walls are in good repair and easily cleanable.Cupboard door within children reach (room 3) was noted to be in disrepair. Screw became undone. This cupboard was noted to not be locked at the time of the visit. Ensure all equipment is in good repair.

      • One of the unlocked cabinets was noted to be storing a Windex detergent (almost empty). Ensure all detergents/chemicals are maintained in locked cabinets to ensure child safety. Bottle was removed during the visit.
    • 08. Is this facility properly constructed (Non-Critical)?

      • Paper towels were refreshed during the visit as some dispensers were missing paper towels.
    • 32. Are general nuisance conditions, other than those noted in other violations, being prevented at this child care facility (Non-Critical)?
      • Small paint bottles were noted to not have signage to indicate safe child use (no AP sign observed). This was discarded during the visit.

      • Water stains were observed on the ceiling in Room 5. Please investigate and remove the source of moisture and replace affected tiles.

      • Chlorine bleach spray bottles were not labelled. It was addressed during the inspection.
    • 06. Are proper protocols being followed in regards to client care?
      • Toys were stored on the diaper pad/table in the Room 4. They were removed during the inspection.

      • Water stains were observed on the ceiling in Room 5. Please investigate and remove the source of moisture and replace affected tiles.

      • 1. Push-in pins were used in children's areas in Room 5. Please remove.2. Staples were used above the children's areas, and some were loose in the Room 3. Remove loose staples. If staples are used in children's areas, ensure that they are covered with pieces of tape.
    • 06. Are proper protocols being followed in regards to client care?
      • Room 4 previously approved for preschool age children was used for older toddler age children, and a diapering area was improperly set-up: no hand washing sink was available in close proximity to the diapering table, and the closest sink was located in the washroom. The diaper pad on the diaper table did not have a safety strap.

      • Paint was peeling off the walls/windowsills in the Room 5.
    • 09. Are properly operating hand washing sink(s) available in suitable location(s), and properly stocked with handwashing supplies?
      • Room 4 previously approved for preschool age children was used for older toddler age children, and a diapering area was improperly set-up: no hand washing sink was available in close proximity to the diapering table, and the closest sink was located in the washroom. The diaper pad on the diaper table did not have a safety strap.
    • 25. Are there adequate storage areas sufficient for the operation of the facility?
      • Some children's cups/bottles were not labelled.
    • 30. Are workers washing hands when appropriate and/or in a proper manner?
      • Hand sanitizer observed in Room 5 expired in May 2022.
    • 32. Are general nuisance conditions, other than those noted in other violations, being prevented at this child care facility (Non-Critical)?
      • Same wiping cloths were being re-used throughout the day. Please follow the recommendations for use of wiping cloths.
