- Written procedures were completed during the inspection.Written procedures for cleansing skin have been completed for the following services: -manicure -pedicure -waxingWritten procedures for accidental skin cuts or punctures was provided to the operator at the time of inspection.Written procedures for handwashing and equipment reprocessing sink decontamination was completed at the time of inspection.
- 08. Is hand hygiene performed by the personal services worker when required, in a proper manner and are provisions available to perform hand hygiene?
- 1. The alcohol-based hand sanitizer expiry date was worn off. Operator agreed to discontinue use and obtain new hand sanitizer. Ensure it has an NPN or DIN, contains 60-90% alcohol content and is not expired.2. The sink in the waxing room was supplied with liquid soap and single-use towels at the time of inspection upon request.

- 1. Comedone loops with "piercing tips" are considered to be critical equipment that must be discarded after each use or sterilized using steam as its sterilant. The tools were removed from the facility at the time of inspection and will no longer be used. If desired, obtain comedone tools that do not have "piercing tips".2. There was a basket of used wooden-handled foot files under the sink in the waxing room that was discarded at the time of inspection. These are single-use items that must be discarded after each use.

- 1. A larger high-level disinfectant tray is required to allow for the large metal foot files to be fully soaked. Ensure it is plastic/glass with a lid. Requested that the large metal foot files not be used for client services until a proper tray has been obtained.2. Proper indicator test strips for the high-level disinfectant (HLD) is not available. Obtain proper indicator test strips. If using PreEmpt CS20, buy AHP7 indicator test strips (50 count). Recommended obtaining two bottles of test strips since they expire 3-months after opening.3. High-level disinfectant logs are not being maintained.
