    • 08. Is hand hygiene performed by the personal services worker when required, in a proper manner and are provisions available to perform hand hygiene?
      • A bottle of hand sanitizer was observed to have no NPN or DIN.Please ensure that appropriate hand sanitizers are used to ensure proper hand hygiene.
    • 20. Is reusable equipment disinfected properly?
      • Expired CS 20 was observed at the time of inspection. No test strips were observed to be available either. The operator mentioned that they will be obtaining more CS 20 prior to their next nail appointment. Please ensure that valid high-level disinfectant is available for the disinfection of semi-critical tools (i.e. nail equipment). Testing of the disinfectant should be done regularly and recorded on a log.
    • 21. Is equipment that is intended to be sterile maintained sterile at the point of use?
      • Some jewelry intended for piercing was noted to not have any documentation to indicate that they are sterile. The operator mentioned that they would remove any items that are missing sterility documentation. Please ensure that all items that are intended to be sterile have the appropriate sterility documentation.
    • 30. Is the reprocessing area of a personal service facility that uses reusable equipment properly designed, managed and maintained to ensure the safety of clients?
      • The dedicated reprocessing sink was observed to be obstructed with reusable coffee cups at the time of inspection.Please ensure that the reprocessing sink is solely used for the reprocessing of service equipment to ensure proper cleaning and disinfection of reusable tools.
