      • 1) Paints labelled 3+ were stored in toddler room (age 2-3 years). - Remove the paints and have paints appropriate for the room age.2) Bleach sanitizer bottles was not labelled in toddler room. - Ensure that the bottles are labelled to identify the contents.

      • Pushpins were observed on the news board in the toddler room (age 2-3 years).-The operator removed the pushpins during the inspection. Ensure no pushpins are being used.

      • Bleach sanitizer solution in the BAS room was measured at 0 ppm. -Ensure that the bleach sanitizer solution is maintained at 100 ppm at all times in all rooms.

      • 1) Toy baskets throughout the facility had dust accumulated. -Clean and wash the toy baskets when toys are washed. 2) The toy storage shelf in the Toddler room and preschool room had paint worn off and raw wood exposed.- Resurface/ repaint the wooden shelves in the noted rooms.3) Wooden toys in the preschool room and BAS room had rough edges, posing a risk of slivers. -Replace the wooden toys as needed.4) The wall tiles and floor tiles in preschool one were chipped. - Repair the tiles.

      • 1) No mouth toy bin was observed in toddler and pre-toddler room. - Ensure to place a bin for mouthed toys in the toddler and pre-toddler room to ensure proper handling of mouthed toys.2) The edges of the sand table in the BAS room had debris build up. - Ensure to clean the sand table.

      • Drop side crib was being used in the pre-toddler room. - Remove the drop side crib and replace it with regular crib that meets regulation.

      • Client water bottles in toddler room were stored within the splash zone of the handwashing sink. - The operator replaced the water bottles away from the splash zone during the inspection. Ensure that the bottles are placed such that the bottles are protected from contamination.

The drywall is exposed on the post in the BAS program. Ensure this is repaired and painted.4. The drywall on the ceiling in the washroom in the basement has rough patching exposed. Ensure this is repaired and painted so that it is smooth and easily cleanable.

The baby storage bin in the preschool room had raw wood exposed. Repaint.6. Two shelves in the BAS program had raw wood exposed. Repaint.7. There was a build up of debris and grim on a few toys throughout the facility. Ensure these are cleaned. If they are no longer cleanable discard.8. The train table in the baby area had raw wood/particle board exposed. Resurface or remove.9. Two chairs in the BAS program had a build of up grim and debris. Ensure these are cleaned.

      • The operator is using a 1000ppm chlorine solution to clean and disinfect toys/surfaces without a rinse step. Rinse surfaces and toys with water after disinfection if using 1000ppm or switch to a 100-200ppm chlorine solution as it does not require a rinse step.
    • 32. Are general nuisance conditions, other than those noted in other violations, being prevented at this child care facility (Non-Critical)?
      • Homemade playdough is used for longer than a week. Recommend heat treating flour or using a stove top cook method to make playdough. Discard playdough after 1 week.
