    • 08. Is this facility properly constructed (Non-Critical)?
      • Baseboard is peeling off next to the hand washing sink in the Toddler 1 room. - Peeling baseboards can lead to dust buildup and provide a breeding ground for bacteria. Please fix it.
    • 18. Is the facility and equipment being maintained in a suitable manner (Non-Critical)?
      • 1) Some dust and debris were build-up below the diapering mattress in the room's Pre-toddler 1 and 2. - Please clean and maintain the area.Note from October 18, 2024 inspection: There was still debris under the diaper mats. Please clean and disinfect the diaper change stations after each diaper change. This is particularly important during a gastrointestinal outbreak.2) Room Pre-toddler 2 cubbies/ lockers needed to be secured or mounted properly to the wall. - Please ensure the lockers/cubbies are secured or mounted properly so they do not become a tipping hazard.
    • 22. Is the plumbing system adequate and being properly maintained (Non-Critical)?
      • Plese replace the caulking beside the hand washing sink in the "Toddler 1" room.- Moisture absorption by the wood can potentially lead to the growth of pathogenic germs and cause damage to the wood structure.

    • 05. Are communicable diseases at this facility being properly managed?
      • 1. Items including a child's diaper cream were stored on the diaper change station in room 4 where there were cases. -All items were removed from the diaper change station at the time of the visit.-Please do not store items on the diaper change station and clean and disinfect the station after each diaper change.2. A piece of cardboard was being used as a barrier to prevent children from entering the toilet area in room 4 where there were cases.-The cardboard was removed and discarded at the time of the inspection as it was not cleanable.3. A surface sanitizer was being used on tables, shelving units, and cubbies in the rooms. The surface sanitizer does not have a norovirus claim. -Please use a disinfectant with a norovirus claim for disinfecting all surfaces in the child care rooms during a gastrointestinal outbreak. Note; The site was using Oxivir TB on the diaper change stations. This disinfectant can be used on all surfaces during the outbreak. Please follow the manufacturer's instructions for use and note that Oxivir TB is not food safe so surfaces such as toys and food contact surfaces must be rinsed with potable water after being disinfected with Oxivir TB.
