    • 11. Are parent provided foods being properly handled and stored to ensure the safety of clients in this social care facility?
      • Formula bottles observed in the toddler room were not properly labeled. Labels had worn off. Please ensure formula bottles are properly labeled and labeled.
    • 18. Is the facility and equipment being maintained in a suitable manner (Non-Critical)?
      • The counter in the back toddler room has a seam that is beginning to lift exposing some particle board beneath. Porous materials can harbour bacteria. Most sanitizer bottles were at 100 ppm, one was at 25 ppm. Please seal the lifting seam so it is smooth, non-absorbent and easily cleanable. Please ensure the disinfectant is at the appropriate concentration and tested on a test strip.

      • Dirty bins for mouthed toys are present, but some mouthed toys were being left to sit in the sink next to the hand sink used for washing hands after diaper changes. Formula cups were being rinsed and left on the edge of the hand sink used for washing hands after diapering. Food containers and toys can become contaminated by dirty water/hands when washing. Please keep food related items and toys away from hand washing sinks.

      • There is currently no hot water available in the facility which is necessary for proper washing of hands, toys and environmental surfaces. Please ensure the hot water is restored. Facility is to remain closed until hot water is restored.

      • There is a bulging ceiling tile with water damage. Tile could break and fall harming people. Please remove the tile and ensure no mold growth in the area. Replace the tile with a tile in good condition.
