    • 08. Is this facility properly constructed (Non-Critical)?
      • A hole was noted on the wall of the pre-school and Kinder washroom. Please seal the wall hole.
    • 22. Is the plumbing system adequate and being properly maintained (Non-Critical)?
      • The water temperature of the hand washing sinks located in the 3-4yr old and washroom was noted to be at 19 degrees C.The operator indicated that the staff turns off the hot water as they fill water cups for drinking. The staff was advised to acquire carafes for each room for drinking water purposes. Please do not use hand washing sinks to water cups and do not turn off hot water.

      • 1. Bite marks were noted on soft blocks at the time of inspection. Please remove all toys with bitemarks on them.2. It was noted that the staff members indicated that they only use dishwasher when it is not available. Please be advised to follow written toy washing procedures. Please create a written toy washing schedule for each room.
    • 22. Is the plumbing system adequate and being properly maintained (Non-Critical)?
      • The sink located in the 3-4 years old toddler was clogged at the time of inspection.Please contact a plumber to unclog the sink.
    • 30. Are workers washing hands when appropriate and/or in a proper manner?
      • Staff members were not washing hands between tasks. Importance of hand washing was discussed with the operator during the inspection. Please wash your hands between tasks.

      • Clients were able to move the diapering table during the inspection. Please secure the diapering table to either wall or floor and ensure clients cannot move it.

      • It was noted that the facility requires AB type 2 first-aid kit. Please ensure that first-aid kit is fully stocked with type 2 supplies.

      • 1. Bleach solution was noted to be stored within clients reach in OSC room. This was moved in the locked cabinet during the inspection. 2. The electrical panel was not locked in the OSC during the inspection. The operator locked the electrical panel during the inspection.
    • 04. Are clients at this facility being protected from hazards (Non-Critical)?
      • Clients were able to move the diapering table during the inspection. Please secure the diapering table to either wall or floor and ensure clients cannot move it.
    • 10. Is a properly supplied first aid kit provided and readily available?
      • It was noted that the facility requires AB type 2 first-aid kit. Please ensure that first-aid kit is fully stocked with type 2 supplies.
    • 11. Are parent provided foods being properly handled and stored to ensure the safety of clients in this social care facility?
      • It was noted that parent provided food was stored at room temperature.Please ensure to either store parent provided food in a refrigerator or have parents provide coolers with icepacks. Please do not store parents provided food items at room temperature.
    • 19. Are indoor play areas and equipment sufficient and being properly maintained to ensure client safety (Critical)?
      • 1. It was noted that the facility was not washing toys properly. Staff members indicated that they were using washroom sinks to wash toys. Staff members were not following written toy washing procedures. As per facility's written procedures, please ensure to use commercial dishwasher or two compartment dishwashing method in the kitchen while food handling is not occurring for toy washing. Please follow written procedures.

      • Toilet paper rolls were being used for arts and crafts. Please be advised not to use toilet paper rolls for arts and crafts. All these rolls were discarded during the inspection.
    • 23. Are sleeping supplies and areas sufficient to ensure client safety and comfort (Critical)?
      • The crib checklist for cribs were not observed. One of the cri did not have a label.Please ensure to complete the crib checklist and ensure that all cribs meet requirements.
    • 24. Are sleeping supplies and areas sufficient to ensure client safety and comfort (Non-Critical)?
      • It was noted that sleeping supplies were being stored together. Please ensure that sleeping supplies are stored in individual labeled bags or containers or in clients' cubbies. Please do not store sleeping supplies together,
    • 25. Are there adequate storage areas sufficient for the operation of the facility?
      • 1. Clients' personal items were in physical contact with other clients. This was discussed with the operator during the inspection. The operator properly stored clients' personal items during the inspection.2. Washroom was being used to storage purposes in the baby room. Please do not use washroom for storage purposes. Please remove all items from the washroom.

      • It was noted that staff members were not washing hands between tasks. Importance of handwashing was discussed with the operator. Please wash hands between tasks.

      • Water stain was noted on few ceiling tiles. Please investigate the source and remediate this concern.
    • 20. Are indoor play areas and equipment sufficient and being properly maintained to ensure client safety (Non-Critical)?
      • Bite marks were noted on few foam blocks at the time of inspection.These were removed during the inspection. Please be advised to remove all foam toys with bite marks.

      • A tall shelf was not anchored to the wall. The operator laid the shelf on its side to make it more stable.

      • The bathroom soap dispenser was not dispensing soap.A manual soap dispenser was obtained during inspection.

      • Window covering cords were not properly secured. This may lead to potential strangulation hazard. Please secure the window covering cords to prevent strangulation hazards.
    • 06. Are proper protocols being followed in regards to client care?
      • 1. Bleach test strips were not observed. Please acquire bleach test strips. 2. The bleach solution for diapering area disinfection purposes was not observed. Please ensure that a bleach solution at 1000 ppm is present in the facility for diapering area.
    • 09. Are properly operating hand washing sink(s) available in suitable location(s), and properly stocked with handwashing supplies?
      • The hand washing sink plumbing line located in the Jr. Preschool was observed to be leaking. Please repair the leaking sink plumbing line.
    • 25. Are there adequate storage areas sufficient for the operation of the facility?
      • Clients' personal items storage hooks were 9 inches apart. Please either increase the distance to 12 inches or install a barrier between them or acquire bags to store items.
    • 31. Are general nuisance conditions, other than those noted in other violations, being prevented at this child care facility (Critical)?
      • 1. Water temperature was noted between 26.6- and 23-degrees C. Please increase the water temperature and ensure it is maintained between 35 - 45 degrees C. 2. Please update outbreak guidelines procedures. 3. Mouth toy bins were not observed. Please ensure that a dedicated mouth toy bin is present in all childcare rooms.
    • 32. Are general nuisance conditions, other than those noted in other violations, being prevented at this child care facility (Non-Critical)?
      • Storage in laundry room was observed. Please do not use laundry room for storage purposes.
