    • 03. Are clients at this facility being protected from hazards (Critical)?
      • The in toddler room there was a small toy is which choking hazard. Toy was removed.
    • 18. Is the facility and equipment being maintained in a suitable manner (Non-Critical)?
      • The nook in the OSC room had paper peeling from the walls. The OSC room was closed for cleaning and renovation today. June 15, 2026 - CorrectedCleaning was required on the floor along the edges of the walls. The OSC required more extensive cleaning including the carpet. June 15, 2026 - Significantly cleaner then what was observed during the previous inspection. The areas that required cleaning were: the carpet in the OSC nook, infant room carpet and high chairs in the infant room.Cleaning schedule logs are being consistently filled out but not always accurately. For example the OSC room was marked cleaned but the nook area had not been adequately cleaned. Please ensure going forward that cleaning logs are accurate.

      • Paints/chemicals stored on floor next to washing machine. Were moved to storage shelf. Please store all chemicals off of the floor and ones that are flammable or combustible are to be at least 1 meter away from any heat source (e.g. furnance or dryer).

    • 03. Are clients at this facility being protected from hazards (Critical)?
      • The laundry room which is in the OSC was unlocked. The OSC was closed for renovations and cleaning today but there was no barrier preventing the preschoolers who were in the adjacent room from accessing,The director locked the door. This door should be kept locked at all times during daycare hours.

      • The nook in the OSC room had paper peeling from the walls. The OSC room was closed for cleaning and renovation today.Cleaning was required on the floor along the edges of the walls. The OSC required more extensive cleaning including the carpet.

      • -First aid supplies need to be updated. Information will be provided with the report

    • 03. Are clients at this facility being protected from hazards (Critical)?
      • -The following potential hazards were noted:*The laundry room was not locked at the time of inspection. Insure the laundry room is kept locked at all times.*Bingo dabbers paints that were not labelled as non-toxic were observed in craft storage. Please remove all craft supplies that are not labelled as non-toxic.*There was a purse with a long strap in the OSC Room. Please remove or cut the straps as it is a strangulation hazard

      • -The kitchen gate was propped open at the time of inspection. Please ensure access to the kitchen is blocked at all times.

      • -First aid supplies need to be updated. Information will be provided with the report
    • 17. Is the facility and equipment being maintained in a suitable manner (Critical)?
      • - The bottle of bleach in the diapering space was not spraying. Please ensure a functional spray bottle is used.-There were multiple bottles of expired Purexall. Please remove as this product can no longer be used.
    • 18. Is the facility and equipment being maintained in a suitable manner (Non-Critical)?
      • - There were no cleaning checklists observed in the facility. Please ensure cleaning checklists are developed and filled out daily.
    • 19. Are indoor play areas and equipment sufficient and being properly maintained to ensure client safety (Critical)?
      • -There was a slide in the Bumble Bee Room that was stored on carpet; this is not enough padding. Please ensure there is adequate padding under the slide.
    • 21. Is the plumbing system adequate and being properly maintained (Critical)?
      • -The dryer in the laundry room was moved up and there was a space heater behind it. The staff member on-site indicated that this was due to frozen pipes that were not producing water. Please ensure that pipes are repaired so that a space heater is not required. Ensure a report is provided to EPH from the contractor.
    • 25. Are there adequate storage areas sufficient for the operation of the facility?
      • -Children’s personal items were being stored on the staircase. This is not an acceptable way to store children’s personal items. Please ensure that hooks, cubbies or lockers are installed.-Children’s personal items that were stored on hooks were not adequately separated. Please ensure that children’s items are stored separated. This could be achieved by installing cubbies or using easy to clean bags.

    • 04. Are clients at this facility being protected from hazards (Non-Critical)?
      • – Foam squares in the Toddler Room had missing pieces; this is a potential choking hazard. The squares were removed at the time of inspection.
    • 06. Are proper protocols being followed in regards to client care?
      • +Diapering was being conducted in the washroom in close proximity to a sink that was designated for handwashing. Diapering procedures were posted. Supplies were stored separate for each child.-The diaper mat in the upstairs washroom had been repaired with tape and the tape was peeling. The tape was replaced at the time of inspection. Please note that this is only considered a temporary repair. The mat will need to be replaced.
    • 18. Is the facility and equipment being maintained in a suitable manner (Non-Critical)?
      • -The washroom in the basement had an excess of clutter, resulting in it being difficult to clean. Please remove as many items as possible, including the mat with holes in it.
