      • *** An intermediate level disinfectant was used for reprocessing reusable semi-critical equipment such as lash extension tweezers.- Preempt HLD5 high level disinfectant was acquired immediately after the inspection, along with the required AHP 2 test strips.Please ensure the MIFU is followed including 14 day reuse period, testing the efficacy of the disinfectant each day it is used, and ensuring equipment is adequately dried prior to being immersed in the disinfectant.

      • Written procedures for skin cleansing, antiseptic use, and post-service procedures were not in place.Please ensure the aforementioned procedures are established.AHS written procedure template package was left onsite.
    • 20. Is reusable equipment disinfected properly?
      • A glass bead sterilizer was being used to reprocess reusable lash extension tweezers. This is not an appropriate method of reprocessing since sterilization parameters such as time, temperature exposure as well as chemical and biological monitoring cannot be measured and tracked.An old bottle of Preempt CS20 (expired in 2020) was available but no longer used. When not expired, this is an acceptable disinfectant.Please ensure reusable lash extension tweezers are brought to a reprocessing area to be washed, rinsed, and dried. Then disinfected with a high level disinfectant according to the manufacturer's instructions for use.Ensure the appropriate indicator strips are used to test disinfection efficacy each day the disinfectant is used. For disinfectants with 7% accelerated hydrogen peroxide, use AHP7 indicator strips.Disinfectants with 2% accelerated hydrogen peroxide must use AHP2 indicator strips.
