      • Facility does not have any of the required facility-specific written procedures in place.

      • Used single-use items (i.e. cardboard/foam nail files, nail buffers etc.) were not being discarded after each use. Items were discarded upon request.

      • The glass containers in the waxing rooms holding waxing and/or tinting-related items was soiled. Clean the glass containers and its contents. All equipment must be protected from contamination during handling and storage.

      • Equipment/tools located in the UV sterilizer bin were visibly dirty. Ensure all tools are properly cleaned with soap/water and dried prior to being disinfected in high-level disinfectant (PreEmpt CS20). The UV sterilizer is not an appropriate method of disinfection but can be used for storage purposes.

      • 1. PreEmpt CS20 (high-level disinfectant) is being used. Purchase proper indicator test strips (AHP7) and keep high-level disinfectant logs.2. The metal "cheese-grater" style foot files are too large for the disinfectant tray. Purchase a larger disinfectant tray and ensure the foot files are fully soaked in high-level disinfectant (PreEmpt CS20).

      • Label all cosmetic products throughout the facility where required with it's contents. Keep original containers.
    • 30. Is the reprocessing area of a personal service facility that uses reusable equipment properly designed, managed and maintained to ensure the safety of clients?
      • The reprocessing sink is located next to the pedicure station. This sink cannot be used for clients to wash their hands. The reprocessing sink can only be used for cleaning equipment and staff hand hygiene. The sink must be disinfected before cleaning equipment.

      • There is only one sink available for hand washing and equipment reprocessing.A written procedure must be in place for decontamination of the sink.This procedure must be followed each time the sink is used for reprocessing equipment.
