    • Ear piercing instrument used only on the ear lobes (fleshy part only)
      • Fail to use ear piercing instrument only on the fleshy part of the ear lobes (i.e. do not use on any other part of the body). Operator/PSW must only use ear piercing instruments on the fleshy part of the ear lobes and not on any other part of the body.

    • For invasive procedures, area of the body is properly cleaned, marked and bandaged as required
      • For body and/or ear piercing, fail to clean skin with approved skin antiseptic, mark skin, let mark dry, and then clean again with antiseptic. Operator/PSW must clean skin with approved skin antiseptic, mark skin, let mark dry, and then clean again with antiseptic.
    • All reusable items and/or equipment cleaned and then disinfected or sterilized as applicable
      • Fail to clean reusable items and/or equipment as often as necessary to prevent disease transmission. Operator/PSW must clean reusable items and/or equipment as often as necessary to prevent disease transmission.
    • All reusable items and/or equipment cleaned and disinfected or sterilized, as applicable
      • Fail to clean ear piercing instrument as often as necessary to prevent disease transmission. Operator/PSW must clean ear piercing instrument as often as necessary to prevent disease transmission.
