- R7.1 - Are the physical facility, equipment and furnishings maintained, sanitary, accessible and appropriate for persons in care?
- Observation(s): Unlocked cupboard which is accessible to persons in care contains knives and scissors. Unsecured hazardous materials can pose a significant risk of harm and injury to persons in care. Please submit a corrective action plan by April 21, 2026, advising how all areas accessible to persons in care will contain secure and safe storage for hazardous materials. Observed common area door that leads to backyard area which is currently under repair resulting in stairs that has been removed(which is the entry way leading from door to backyard area). Door currently is locked with a basic lock however can be easily opened, door also contains a "do not open" sign. An easily accessible door leading to a hazardous backyard area with missing stairs can pose significant risk of harm and injury to persons in care. Licensing Officer requested during inspection for door to be further secured by end of week, Manager discussed plan to add secure caution tape to be placed over door until an additional source of a secure lock can be installed. Please submit a corrective action plan by April 21, 2026 advising how this common area door will be further secured to ensure no persons in care are able to exit until repairs have been completed, please also advise confirmed date of when repairs are expected to be completed.
