      • Facility does not have a written procedure for the cleansing of skin and mucous membrane (for waxing).Corrective Action:- AHS written procedure template was provided for use.- Please complete and forward copy to me for review.

    • 20. Is reusable equipment disinfected properly?
      • Facility does not have a device to measure the required amount of Barbicide for proper dilution of this disinfectant. The manufacturer instructions on the label state to mix 62.5 ml of Barbicide in 1 liter of water. (This is equivalent to 2 ounces of Barbicide in 32 ounces of water, or 1/4 of a cup of Barbicide in 4 cups of water)Corrective Action:- Ensure you are following the manufacturer's instructions of this disinfectant.- Ensure you have a device to measure the correct volume of Barbicide and water for mixing.

      • Clippercide and Barbicide are used to disinfect non-critical tools and equipment. However, rubbing alcohol is also used to disinfect non-critical tools.Corrective Action:- Advised operator that rubbing alcohol is not an approved disinfectant.- However, rubbing alcohol (i.e. 70% isopropyl alcohol spray) can be used on brushes.
    • 27. Is the facility maintained in a visibly clean state and are environmental surfaces cleaned and disinfected properly?
      • The wax warmer and trolley have accumulated grime and residue.Corrective Action:- Clean and disinfect the wax warmer and trolley.- Moving forward ensure these are maintained in a visibly clean state.

      • Hair wash station was noted being used to reprocess the combs, scissors. Process of decontamination of dual purposes sink was reviewed during inspection onsite.
