    • 14. Is single-use or uncleanable equipment being used as intended (Non-Critical)?
      • Most manicure stations had a paper bag on the side that was full of used emery boards and other garbage. This is a good indication that these items are NOT being reused.In addition to this, most of the stations had no sign of used emery boards (or other used single use items) in the drawers.However, I did observe a single station with 3-4 clearly used emery boards in the main tool drawer. This booth wasn't in active use during this inspection.The manager on-site was told that ALL single use items are to be discarded between clients. These used items found during the inspection were discarded.Note:I didn't find any items that appeared to be getting re-used in the pedicure stations.

    • 13. Is single-use or uncleanable equipment being used as intended (Critical)?
      • A few used foam-centered emery boards were noted stored in the bin that contained all the new emery boards. These were removed and discarded during the inspection. Please ensure that all single use items are either given to the client after use or discarded.
    • 20. Is reusable equipment disinfected properly?
      • The facility demonstrated good procedures for cleaning and disinfecting nail equipment. The disinfectant in use is PreEmpt CS-20, which is appropriate; however, the only bottle at the store had expired in January 2024. Operator indicated that they had more at home and will bring some in. Please ensure that all disinfectants in use are within their expiry dates.
