    • 31. Are general nuisance conditions, other than those noted in other violations, being prevented at this child care facility (Critical)?
      • Water infiltration was observed on the south wall of the daycare. Moisture meter was used and colour indicate a high amount of moisture a long the south wall, south wall doors, and within the closets. A small amount of mould was noted on the baseboard of a closet a long the south wall. Flooring needs to be further investigated to find the source of the water and extent of water damaged. Any flooring that is water damaged requires to be repair or replaced. At this time, damp areas to be adequately dried out so mitigate any potential mould growth concerns. At the outdoor area, staff noted that water tends to be pool around the south wall as it is the lowest lying area of the building. Proper grading or other mitigation strategies are required in this area so that water does not pool around the south wall.Obtain a qualified individual, such as a remediation specialist to assess the area, find the source of moisture, mitigate source of moisture. Prevention strategies such as proper grader or other mitigation strategies are to be in place so that when there is heavy rainfall, water does not pool and enter building. Receipt of work is required.

      • A small amount of mould was noted on the baseboard of a closet a long the south wall. Ensure is areas with any mould are appropriately cleaned. Any materials that damaged, or porous and cannot be cleaned must be discarded.

    • 18. Is the facility and equipment being maintained in a suitable manner (Non-Critical)?
      • Little Rascals-The ceiling light is in disrepair. Continue to isolate the area from children's access until it is fixed.-The vent cover is in disrepair and needs to be replaced.Yakety Yaks-Two toy baskets were found with cracks on their edges.-Ensure all toy bins with cracks are replaced.
    • 24. Are sleeping supplies and areas sufficient to ensure client safety and comfort (Non-Critical)?
      • Yakety Yaks-Cracks were observed on some mattress pads in the Toddler room.-Replace the mattress covers to ensure they are easily cleanable.
    • 29. Are washrooms / bathing facilities properly constructed, maintained and supplied (Non-Critical)?
      • The toilet seat in the Little Rascals room is worn out and should be replaced to ensure it is easily cleanable and can be properly disinfected.

      • Ensuring diaper changing areas are close to the room handwashing station. Relocate the change station to suggest room areas to be closer to the handwashing sink.

    • 03. Are clients at this facility being protected from hazards (Critical)?
      • Bingo dabbers that stated "Not for Children between the ages of 0-3" were found in the munchkin room. Use non-toxic craft supplies that manufacturer's have rated for the appropriate ages.
    • 17. Is the facility and equipment being maintained in a suitable manner (Critical)?
      • There was an accumulation of debris under all of the change matts on the diapering surfaces. Ensure that diapering change tables and under the change matts are cleaned at least daily but more if required.
    • 18. Is the facility and equipment being maintained in a suitable manner (Non-Critical)?
      • One of the wooden tables in the out of school care room was severely scratched and damaged and no longer smooth, non- porous, and easy to clean. Refinish, repair, or replace table so that it is smooth, non-porous and easy to clean.
    • 20. Are indoor play areas and equipment sufficient and being properly maintained to ensure client safety (Non-Critical)?
      • A single use disposable cup was being used as a toy in the play sand. Ensure that only toys that are re-usable, cleanable, and able to be disinfected are used.
    • 24. Are sleeping supplies and areas sufficient to ensure client safety and comfort (Non-Critical)?
      • Some of the sleeping matts are starting to wear or lose their cover and render them no longer smooth, non-porous and easy to clean.Replace sleeping matts that are no longer easy to clean.

    • 06. Are proper protocols being followed in regards to client care?
      • Safety belts available for all change stations. 100ppm bleach solution used for disinfecting change pad. Handwashing available for both staff and children after diapering. *Lay down a disposable paper sheet under the child prior to diapering. Dispose of paper and disinfect change pad after each use.
