    • 21. Is the facility properly constructed and maintained in a state of good repair to allow for the safe and sanitary handling of food?
      • Arborite on the countertop where the bacon is cooked is peeling off. Please repair as needed.
    • 23. Is the facility maintained in a clean and sanitary condition?
      • Staining was observed on the bottom on the inside of the front display cooler, on the cupboards handles, walls and floor inside the dry storage.Please clean the indicated areas more thoroughly/regularly.

    • 04. Does the operator use approved methods for cleaning and sanitizing equipment, utensils, and surfaces?
      • Food contact surfaces/counter were not being sanitized. The operator was cleaning food contact surfaces with soap and water without sanitizing. Education was provided during inspection on proper cleaning and sanitizing of food contact surfaces.
    • 19. Does the facility have a valid permit and does the facility operate in compliance with the conditions of that permit, or is the facility awaiting approval prior to operation?
      • The facility was operating contrary to permit restrictions. A counter-top dishwasher was being used to wash re-usable customer cutlery. The dishwasher does not have NSF certified sanitization option and also has a long run cycle. The facility is permitted to use single-use customer utensils only. The observed dishwasher is not sufficient to change the permit restrictions. 3-compartment sink or appropriate dishwasher is required. Please note that facility must maintain the stated restrictions as the dishwasher cannot be used for re-usable customer utensils.If you want to use re-usable customer utensils, you will need to apply to Alberta Health Services - Environmental Public Health to make the necessary changes, have them approved and your permit will be adjusted.
