- 20. Is reusable equipment disinfected properly?
- The facility had a small bottle of PreEmpt CS20(1L) in use(more than half empty); however, no test strips or concentration log were available to support reuse, and the solution was being discarded after each use.Please ensure AHP7 test strips are acquired and that a log sheet is printed and maintained to support proper monitoring and reuse of the solution in accordance with manufacturer requirements.As discarding the solution after each use is not cost effective(will run out of current supply after two days of use, if discarding), it is also recommended to obtain a larger supply of CS20, as this will be more economical and better support ongoing operations.

- Reprocessing was being conducted in the kitchen sink. The only other available sink in the operator’s home was located in the bathroom, and no dedicated sink was available in a location separate from toilets or food preparation areas.Due to the risk of cross contamination, reprocessing must be conducted in a room separate from incompatible activities. Please ensure that either single use disposable tools are used (wont require reprocessing sink), or that a non-mobile fully plumbed sink is available in a room separate from a toilet, sleeping, or food handling area.
