      • 1. Preschool (Rm 4): There was dangling string lights wrapped around the guardrail. The string lights were accessible to the children. There is a risk of electrical shock or a strangulation hazard.The string lights were removed during the inspection.

      • 1. Infant room: Bingo dabbers were being used for the infants. The label for the bingo dabbers were '3+ age'.The bingo dabbers were removed during the inspection.2. Preschool (Rm 4): There were some broken seashells in one of the containers with sharp edges. The broken shells were removed during the inspection.3. Sharp push pins are being used in the facility for the corkboard.Please remove the pins and find alternative solutions.4. Preschool (Rm 4): The childproof lock has been removed from the fridge where staff lunches and refrigerated medications are stored.Please install a new childproof lock to the fridge.

      • 1. Infant room: The cushions for the bookcase seating were torn with the interior foam material exposed.The cushions were removed during the inspection.2. Pre-kindergarten room: There was a cloth chair that was in disrepair, and a portion of the cloth armrest was torn.The chair was removed during the inspection.3. Infant room: A portion of the plastic mirror located by the wall mounted ballet bar is broken with sharp edges. The broken section is currently being taped to prevent injury.Please replace the mirror.

The water tables were noted in the following areas:- Pre-kindergarten room- Junior preschool roomPlease add a protective cover or fitting to prevent children from sticking their fingers inside the valve.

      • - There were push pins stored in the drawer under the hand sink in the Pre Kindergarten room. The drawer was openable by children.** Please relocate the push pins and ensure all drawers/cabinet doors that are able to be accessible to children do not have any hazardous items stored. **This was corrected during the inspection. -
    • 08. Is this facility properly constructed (Non-Critical)?
      • - A cubicle storage unit by the door in the Pre K room (under the bulletin board) had some shelves that were rough wood and not easy to clean. ** Please ensure the surface of shelves are made smooth, non-absorbent to moisture/ easy to clean. ** Staff mentioned that they are aware of this issue and maintenance is working on it. -
    • 10. Is a properly supplied first aid kit provided and readily available?
      • -The first aid kits were missing some items including cpr mouth barriers.-Please update all first aid kits according to the list of required items outlined on page 39 of the Child Care Guidelines.-

      • - The fan in the washroom ( located across the Pre Kindergarten room) had an accumulation of dust on the cover. ** Please ensure the fan cover is cleaned and the dust is removed to ensure the fan is able to operate as intended. -
    • 25. Are there adequate storage areas sufficient for the operation of the facility?
      • - Some personal children water bottles were not labelled in the Kinder/preschool room. ** Please ensure the water bottles are labeled with the child's name. -
