    • 15. Is reusable equipment handled and stored properly (Critical)?
      • 1. Wooden sticks were observed to be stored in the bulk waxing pots. **Do not store single use disposable wooden sticks in the waxing pots. One dip per stick and discard.2. Q tips were observed to be dirty with wax. **Discard.***CORRECTED DURING THE INSPECTION.
    • 17. Is reusable equipment cleaned properly (Critical)?
      • 1. Clippers were observed to have a significant amount of left over hair. All hair station drawers had hair accumulated in the bottom of the drawers. **Ensure clippers are being cleaned and disinfected with Clippercide after each client. **Clean all drawers. **Maintain equipment and drawers in a sanitary manner.2. Waxing chair cover was observed to have an accumulation of hair. **Clean and ensure this is changed out between clients or remove completely. 3. Hair was observed on waxing tweezers. **Clean and disinfect after each client. Low level disinfectant wipes can be used with a 2 wipe method (first wipe is the clean step and second wipe is the disinfect step). 4. Waxing chair paper liner was observed to be torn, with wax and hair. **Remove and ensure paper liner is changed out after each client. ***CORRECTED DURING THE INSPECTION.

      • Reprocessing sink located in the back room was being used to wash staff dishes.**Ensure reprocessing sink is decontaminated between uses OR strictly use the hair washing sinks to wash hair equipment such as brushes.

    • 20. Is reusable equipment disinfected properly?
      • Staff indicated that alcohol (presumably isopropyl alcohol) was being used to disinfect tweezers for facial hair removal procedures. Current regulations for personal services require disinfectants used to have a Drug Identification Number (DIN) issued by Health Canada.Staff were instructed to use available Barbercide disinfectant for these tweezers.
