    • 16. Is the facility free of unapproved animals, vermin and/or insects (unless noted elsewhere), and maintained to prevent the entry or harbourage of pests?
      • Small flies observed in the basement area. Empty beer cans were stored in waste receptacles without a cover. Remove the beer cans as this attracts flies and other pests. Ensure proper lids are used to contain wastes and to prevent the attraction of pests. Install a fly light to control the fly population.
    • 16. Is the facility free of unapproved animals, vermin and/or insects (unless noted elsewhere), and maintained to prevent the entry or harbourage of pests?
      • There is a large gap on the bottom of the back exit door by the basement storage area. Install weatherstripping to prevent the entry of pests.
    • 23. Is the facility maintained in a clean and sanitary condition?
      • Accumulation of food debris and dust underneath the fryer and the grill. The facility must be maintained in a clean and sanitary manner. Please clean.

    • 07. Do food handlers ensure that food is protected from contamination (unless noted elsewhere)(Critical)?
      • There are fly ribbon traps installed directly above clean dishes, above food handling areas and above the hand sink. Ribbon fly traps should not be installed near food handling areas as this poses a risk for potential contamination for clean dishware and food. Remove the ribbon fly traps.
    • 08. Do food handlers ensure that food is protected from contamination (unless noted elsewhere)(Non-Critical)?
      • The outside of the bulk ingredient containers are soiled. Ensure the bulk containers are regularly cleaned for safe handling of food. Please clean.
    • 10. Are food temperatures during storage and processing being controlled to maximize food safety?
      • The sandwich cooler farthest from the exit door measured 9.7C. Coolers must maintain a temperature of at least 4C or below to prevent the growth of bacteria. Repair/replace the sandwich cooler and refrain from storing any food inside. The operator discarded all the food inside the cooler during the inspection.
    • 13. Are properly operating hand washing sink(s) accessible to food handlers, located in suitable areas, and stocked with appropriate hand washing supplies?
      • There was no paper towel dispenser at the hand sink by the exist door. Ensure a dispenser is installed to protect the paper towels from contamination.
    • 16. Is the facility free of unapproved animals, vermin and/or insects (unless noted elsewhere), and maintained to prevent the entry or harbourage of pests?
      • Several large flies observed. The back door was propped open and did not have a screen. A screen must be installed when the door is kept open to prevent pests from entering. Install a screen door or keep the door closed at all times. The operator closed the door during the inspection.

      • 1. Small flies observed in the basement area. Empty beer cans were stored in waste receptacles without a cover. Remove the beer cans as this attracts flies and other pests. Ensure proper lids are used to contain wastes and to prevent the attraction of pests. Install a fly light to control the fly population.2. There was a mice in the trap. Remove the mice and clean and sanitize the surrounding area. Consult with a professional pest control company to detect potential entry points and ensure gaps are sealed. 3. No pest control records available during the inspection. Pest control records must be maintained onsite for review. Ensure pest control records are readily available and maintained onsite.
    • 22. Are utensils and equipment maintained in a condition and a manner that ensures the safe handling of food?
      • Cutting board has deep grooves with buildup of grime in between. Food equipment must be maintained in a manner that is easily cleanable. The operator discarded the cutting board during the inspection.
