Inspection summary
Pure Premium Water Corp has been inspected 5 times by Alberta Health Services (Environmental Public Health) since July 22, 2026. The most recent inspection, on August 24, 2026, recorded 1 infraction.
None of the 5 inspections on record were free of infractions. In the past 12 months there were 5 inspections with 28 infractions recorded. The higher-risk findings here relate to: Pests and Cleaning and sanitizing.
Recent inspections have recorded fewer infractions than earlier ones, so the record is improving.
What these findings mean
Health authorities word their violations differently, so we group them by what they mean for food safety. Higher-risk findings are the ones inspectors treat as critical, because they can directly make someone sick.
PestsHigher risk
Signs of mice, rats, cockroaches or flies, or gaps and clutter that let them get in or hide. Pests carry bacteria and can contaminate food and surfaces, so evidence of activity is treated seriously and usually triggers a follow-up visit.
Recorded 3 times across 3 separate inspections, most recently on July 31, 2026. For example:
Is the facility free of unapproved animals, vermin and/or insects (unless noted elsewhere), and maintained to prevent the entry or harbourage of pests?
Cleaning and sanitizingHigher risk
Anything that touches food, such as cutting boards, dishes and utensils, must be washed, rinsed and sanitized. Inspectors check dishwasher temperatures, sanitizer strength and how wiping cloths are stored. Poor sanitizing lets bacteria survive from one use to the next.
Recorded 3 times across 2 separate inspections, most recently on July 27, 2026. For example:
Are there adequate and properly operating dish washing facilities to effectively clean and sanitize equipment and utensils (unless noted elsewhere)(Critical)?
Building, plumbing and upkeepLower risk
Floors, walls and ceilings must be smooth and clean, with working lighting, ventilation, plumbing, hot and cold water, and washrooms. These are rarely an immediate food-safety risk on their own, but persistent problems can lead to pest or sanitation issues.
Recorded 14 times across 5 separate inspections, most recently on August 24, 2026. For example:
Have plans for construction or alteration of this facility been submitted for approval?
Food safety training and certificationLower risk
Most jurisdictions require a certified food handler or manager on site, and some require allergen or food-worker training. These findings mean the paperwork or the trained person was missing at the time. They do not by themselves mean food was handled unsafely.
Recorded 2 times on July 22, 2026. For example:
Do food handlers ensure that food is protected from contamination (unless noted elsewhere)(Critical)?
Permits, records and postingLower risk
Operating permits, required signage, written procedures and logs. These findings are administrative: the documentation was missing or out of date at the time of inspection.
Recorded once on July 22, 2026. For example:
Does the facility have a valid permit and does the facility operate in compliance with the conditions of that permit, or is the facility awaiting approval prior to operation?

- 06. Are there adequate and properly operating dish washing facilities to effectively clean and sanitize equipment and utensils (unless noted elsewhere)(Critical)?
- A three-compartment stainless steel sink of sufficient size was present for dishwashing.Staff were verbally able to identify the steps of wash, rinse and sanitize.Inspector was informed bottles sit in the sanitizing solution for approximately 30 seconds.Bottles were in the process of being washed on inspector arrival. A sanitizing solution was not prepared and staff were unsure of the chemical used for sanitizing. A large bucket of chlorine was present beneath the sink. It was confirmed this is the sanitizer used.Ensure all staff are familiar with the wash, rinse, sanitize steps. A Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) must be available.Chlorine solutions for sanitizing must be maintained at 100-200 ppm. To achieve this solution, mix 1/2 tsp of bleach to 1L of water.Bottles must be in contact with the sanitizing solution for at least 2 minutes.Inspector was informed that the Maifan stones used in mineralized water were sanitized by placing in a bucket and pouring water boiled in a kettle over them.If hot water is used as a sanitizing agent, the stones must be submerged in water measuring 77C for at least 2 minutes. - There was no handwashing station present inside the facility.Staff stated they used the washroom for handwashing. The washroom was not easily accessible at the time of inspection. Washroom sinks are not acceptable for handwashing for food handling.A dedicated handwashing sink must be installed in the main part of the facility and be easily accessible to all staff. The handwashing sink must be stocked with liquid soap and paper in dispensers at all times.
- 10. Is all the finished water / ice in this facility fit for human consumption?
- Each product (RO bottled water, mineralized bottled water, and ice) must be tested according to the following criteria:a) monthly, for microbiological parameters;b) annually, for chemical parameters, orc) as required by an Executive Officer/Public Health Inspector.Inspector was informed water was last tested in October.Submit samples for analysis. This created a large gap beneath the front door where pests could enter. Staff replaced the transition during inspection.A pest control inspection is required at least once per month and results must be documented.Pest control self-checklist to be sent by email.

- 15. Does the facility have a valid permit and does the facility operate in compliance with the conditions of that permit, or is the facility awaiting approval prior to operation?
- Facility does not have a valid Food Handling Permit.Bottled water facilities and packaged ice facilities must have a valid food handling permit to operate.Submit a Food Permit Application.Facility will be issued a Food Handling Permit once requirements of the Food Regulation and Food Code are met.
- 16. Is the facility properly constructed and maintained in a state of good repair to allow for the safe and sanitary handling of food?

Procedures must include the cleaning and sanitizing agents used including their concentrations. There was a kiddie pool present beneath the ice machine to catch dripping water. The pool did not appear to have been cleaned recently.Clean the pool.Clean the pool each night after use and allow to dry overnight to prevent biofilm buildup.
- 20. Have plans for construction or alteration of this facility been submitted for approval?
