      • Several nail files and buffs that have been used were observed to be stored in the manicure stations. Nail files and buffs are single use items and must not be reused. All used nail files and buffs were discarded immediately upon request.
    • 26. Are cosmetic products appropriate for their intended use and being handled properly?
      • Several squeeze bottles were not labelled. Ensure all squeeze bottles and cosmetic products are labelled.
    • 27. Is the facility maintained in a visibly clean state and are environmental surfaces cleaned and disinfected properly?
      • A build up of nail dust was observed in and around the manicure stations. Clean all the manicure stations including the drawers and cabinets.

      • Facility specific written procedures were not observed. Please create facility specific written procedures.
    • 17. Is reusable equipment cleaned properly (Critical)?
      • Residual was noted on the inside of some of the reprocessed nail clippers. Operator requested to obtain a better brush that can clean inside of the nail clipper. If unable to brush out these items operator should consider purchasing an ultrasonic cleaner.
    • 21. Is equipment that is intended to be sterile maintained sterile at the point of use?
      • Pedicure foot files were being stored in the UV chamber. Inspector requested that item be removed from the facility as these items require sterilization which is not completed by the facility. The operator immediately removed the items.

      • Facility specific written procedures were not observed. Please create facility specific written procedures.

      • Single use applicators and gloves were being reused. All used single use applicators were discarded during the inspection. The operator was advised not to reuse single use applicators.
    • 17. Is reusable equipment cleaned properly (Critical)?
      • Reusable devices were not being cleaned in between tasks. Please be advised that all reusable devices must be cleaned using soap and water and rinsed with clean water in between clients. Please clean all reusable devices.
    • 20. Is reusable equipment disinfected properly?
      • 1. Reusable devices were not being disinfected in between clients. Please use a high-level disinfectant to disinfect all reusable devices. 2. Test strips to test high level disinfectant was not observed. Please purchase test strips and maintain records of high level disinfecting logs. 3. Workstations were not being disinfected in between clients. Please use low level disinfectant to disinfect workstations in between clients.

      • General cleaning and disinfection is required throughout the facility. Please clean, disinfect an organize the facility thoroughly and ensure it is maintained in a clean and organized manner at all times.

      • Single use blades were not stored properly. Please ensure that all single use blades must be stored in their original container away from any other item.
