- Observation: Various implements used scoops are left in product for ongoing use including ingredient bins, ice machines, ready to eat product. (Public Health Significance) Improper scoops and scoop storage exposes items to bare hand contact and potential contamination.
- Corrective Action: Store scoops so that foods are not exposed to the handles or bare hand contact. Store food scoops in a sanitary manner and clean and sanitize them regularly.
- 210 - Food not thawed in an acceptable manner [s. 14(2)]
- Observation: (CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION) Improper thawing procedure, foods thawed sitting at room temperature. (Public Health Significance) Thawing at room temperature is uncontrolled and over the required time, portions of the product can be in the danger zone for extended periods of time.
- Corrective Action: Thaw foods under running cold water, in the fridge or in the microwave oven.
- 301 - Critical Equipment/utensils/food contact surfaces not maintained in sanitary condition [s. 17(1)]
- Observation: Hard to reach areas on the blender the dough mixer, vegetable cubing unit, and bulk storage containers including sugar, spices, and other dry goods had food debris that can attract pests.
- Corrective Action: Ensure that all areas of equipment and food containers including hard to reach and lids are cleaned and sanitized effectively.
- 311 - Premises not maintained as per approved plans [s. 6(1)(b)]
- Observation: Light in the staff washroom area was not functioning during the inspection. (Public Health Significance) Proper light levels allow staff to verify whether handwashing was completed properly.
- Corrective Action: Ensure that there is appropriate levels of light in the facility.

- Observation: Personal food items and beverage containers were stored in food prep areas. Personal food containers may contaminate food surfaces and lead to foodbourne illness. Cans of paint were found stored in the dry food storage area. Improper storage of chemicals including paint can lead to food contamination.
- Corrective Action: Ensure that personal food items and containers are stored separately from food, equipment and food prep areas. Ensure chemicals including cans of paint are stored separately from food.
