      • Bleach sanitizer spray bottles were observed without a label in the toddler and younger preschool rooms. Please ensure all chemicals are labelled. The operator labelled the indicated chemicals during inspection.

      • Kinetic sand labeled for ages 3+ was observed in the toddler room. Please ensure that activities and materials provided in each room are age appropriate. The operator removed the indicated sand during the inspection.

      • A ceiling light cover in the younger preschool room was observed to be cracked.Please replace the indicated light cover.

      • Several expired alcohol wipes were observed in the first aid kits located in the toddler and older preschool rooms. Please ensure that first aid kits are stocked with non-expired supplies.

      • 1. Stepping stools in the toddler and younger preschool washrooms were observed with a buildup of grime. 2. The side of the diapering counter in the younger preschool room was observed to be peeling and is no longer smooth or easily cleanable. 1. Please ensure that the indicated stools are thoroughly cleaned and maintained in a sanitary condition.2. Please repair the indicated surface so that it is smooth, moisture-resistant, and easily cleanable.

      • 1. Low hot water pressure was observed at the second handwashing sink from the door in the OSC washroom. 2. The bases of the handwashing sink faucets in the younger preschool room and the toddler washroom were loose. 1. Please repair the sink to restore adequate hot water pressure.2. Please ensure that the indicated faucet bases are properly secured.

      • Infant room: Diaper mat was ripped on corners.Please replace diaper change mat and ensure safety strap is available.Preschool washroom: Ensure disinfectant (Bleach) is available at the diapering station (was stored in between classrooms on cubbies)

      • Preschool washroom: Counter edge needs to be finished/sealed.

      • Infant room: Yellow rocking toy had fabric only, and could not be easily cleaned or disinfected.Please remove item or ensure can be cleaned (with steam cleaner or similar) on a weekly basis and when soiled.

      • Preschool room: Hand sink temperature was measured to be 23C. The temperature of the hand sinks that children use should be increased with a maximum temperature of 49C (recommend mid 30C - low 40C)

      • Infant room:1 crib did not have a mattress that was impervious to moisture. Ensure the crib mattresses are tight fighting, able to be easily cleaned and impervious to moisture.Sleeping mats are stored in preschool washroom with garbage bags over mats. Ensure the mats are covered at all times when stored in the washroom (garbage bag was falling off)

      • Doorknob was missing inside the Preschool washroom, and the door could not be open from inside. Provide a proper doorknob.

      • Sleeping mats were stored in the Preschool washroom. If mats are stored in the washroom, ensure that they are adequately protected against contamination.

      • 1. Ceiling tiles were wet and warped in OSC and Preschool rooms. Investigate and remove the source of water-infiltration and replace the affected tiles.2. Stall partitions were rusted, and paint was peeling in the OSC washroom. Please repair.3. Wall was damaged, and tiles missing on the wall near the hand dryer in the OSC room.

      • Doorknob was missing inside the Preschool washroom, and the door could not be open from inside. Provide a proper doorknob.

      • No soap was provided in the Preschool washroom (soap dispensers were empty).
    • 16. Does the social care facility have adequate lighting?
      • 2 light fixtures were not operational in Toddler room. Please repair or replace.
    • 22. Is the plumbing system adequate and being properly maintained (Non-Critical)?
      • Hot water temperature was 51.1C in the OSC washroom. Please ensure that hot water temperature is 49C or lower.
    • 24. Are sleeping supplies and areas sufficient to ensure client safety and comfort (Non-Critical)?
      • One crib was unlabeled in the Baby room. It was addressed during the inspection.

      • No toilet paper dispensers were provided in the OSC washroom and Preschool washroom (toilet paper rolls were stored on the toilet tanks).

      • The washroom fan was not operational in the Baby/Toddler washroom.
