- 09. Are chemicals stored and handled in a safe manner?
- Two Oxivir sanitizer spray bottles were present in the kitchen. One bottle contained accelerated hydrogen peroxide (AHP) and was correctly labeled. The second bottle contained a different cleaning agent but had the same label as the AHP bottle. - The incorrectly labeled spray bottle was immediately removed from use to relabeled appropriately. All chemical containers must be clearly and accurately labeled to identify their contents.
- 16. Is the facility free of unapproved animals, vermin and/or insects (unless noted elsewhere), and maintained to prevent the entry or harbourage of pests?
- Mouse droppings were observed inside cabinets underneath the 3-compartment sink.- Inspect all cabinets in the kitchen for mouse droppings. Clean and sanitize all areas contaminated with mouse droppings using a disinfectant/sanitizer.- Seal and close any gaps or holes in the wall surrounding plumbing under the three-compartment sinks.- Install a weather stripping on 3 entrance/exit doors to the kitchen to prevent pest entry.- Remove unused or unnecessary items from the kitchen as clutter provides harborage for mice.- Ensure all exterior doors to the school are properly fitted with intact weather stripping to prevent pest entry into the facility
