Post-service care for personal services that involve puncturing skin or mucous membrane3. Client care in the event of an accidental skin cut or puncture

- 1) Client records are not maintained for the microneedling service. Please ensure that client records for personal services involving critical equipment are maintained and kept accessible for review for a period of two years. The client records must include:- Full client name- Contact information of client- Date(s) of personal service- Description of personal service- Name of personal services worker who provided the personal service2) Sterility assurance documentation for the microneedle was not maintained with the client records. Please ensure that sterility assurance documentation for all critical equipment purchased as sterile is kept with the corresponding client’s records.
- 20. Is reusable equipment disinfected properly?
- 1. The facility uses PREempt CS20, a high-level disinfectant, with a contact time of ten to fifteen minutes. Please ensure that a contact time of twenty minutes is achieved when using this disinfectant, as per manufacturer's instructions. 2. PREempt CS20 was diluted with water before use. Please ensure that this disinfectant is not diluted, in accordance with the manufacturer’s instructions.3. The facility was not using test strips to verify the concentration of PREempt CS20. Please ensure that non-expired AHP7 Indicator Test Strips are used to test the minimum effective concentration of high-level disinfectants each day the disinfectant is used. 4. Records related to the use of high-level disinfectant are not being maintained. Please ensure that records include the date of testing, test strip results, the date the disinfectant was changed, and the initials of the personal service worker who performed the activity.

- Sterility documentation was not currently being retained with client records at the time of inspection. Information was provided to the operator on retaining the sterility documentation. Please ensure that sterility documentation such as lot numbers and expiry dates are retained with client records.
- 21. Is equipment that is intended to be sterile maintained sterile at the point of use?
- An old-opened package that had no expiry date containing a formerly sterile blade was observed at the time of inspection. The operator was asked to discard or remove the item from the facility.Please ensure that all equipment that is intended to be sterile is sterile at the point of use.
