      • Barbicide solution was observed to contain visible particles/debris. Equipment must be thoroughly cleaned of hair, dirt, and debris before being placed in disinfectant, as debris can reduce the effectiveness of the solution. The container should also be kept closed and can be stored away from working area to prevent contamination from external particles.
    • 33. Are general nuisance conditions, other than those noted in other violations, being prevented at this personal services facility (Non-Critical)?
      • Personal items were observed stored in the same drawer as service equipment. This is not permitted. Personal belongings must be stored separately from all clean tools and equipment used in service delivery.

      • Pre-empt RTU disinfectant expired 08/2024.Ensure disinfectants are within their expiry dates.Do not use the Pre-empt RTU for disinfecting. Items may be disinfected with barbicide or the Purify spray.

    • 14. Is single-use or uncleanable equipment being used as intended (Non-Critical)?
      • A single use lash brush was found in barbicide disinfectant.Brush had not yet been used; but the container the lash brushes come in have the brush portion faced up so they are handled.Do not place lash brushes in barbicide. Lash brushes may be sprayed with 70% isopropyl alcohol after removal from the container to help reduce any microorganisms present.Ensure brushes are handled with clean hands.Hand sanitizer may be used on hands to further reduce the potential for contamination.
    • 29. Is the facility properly constructed and maintained to allow for the safe and sanitary provision of personal services (Non-Critical)?
      • The salon chair is damaged in multiple places. The foam is visible and hair is accumulating in crevices.Ensure the chair is replaced or refinished so it is in good repair, impervious to moisture, and easy to clean.
