    • 401 - Critical Adequate handwashing stations not available for employees [s. 21(4)]
      • Observation: (CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION) Inadequate facilities provided for hand washing. A reusable plastic container was being stored on the hand washing sink at time of inspection. (Public Health Significance): Hand washing is an important practice to ensure food are protected from cross contamination from other previously handled foods or contact surfaces.
      • Corrective Action: Ensure the hand wash station is accessible at all times and used only as a hand wash station whenever food is being prepared. Soap and paper towel in dispensers and hot and cold running water must be provided to facilitate proper hand washing. Operator moved the storage bin to another storage location at time of inspection.

    • 302 - Critical Repeat Equipment/utensils/food contact surfaces not properly washed and sanitized [s. 17(2)]
      • Observation: (CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION) The sanitize solution (quats) in the third sink for sanitizing utensils did not have any sanitizer in it and the employee on duty stated the bottle of sanitizer connected to the dispenser was empty. The employee was instructed to get a new bottle, which they did, but they did not replace the empty jug, which another employee did during the inspection at which point the concentration of the sanitize solution was found to be acceptable.
      • Corrective Action: Staff must be trained to ensure sanitizer is always available, that the concentration of sanitizer (quats) from the dispenser and that's in use is at least 200 ppm, and to immediately take action when either of the first two conditions aren't met.
