      • A few used single use items like nail filers were found in the clean equipment storage. Used single use tools were discarded on site.Ensure the single use items are not reused.
    • 20. Is reusable equipment disinfected properly?
      • CS20 test strips are expired in 2024. No test logs were available.Obtain new CS20 test strips. Verify the kept CS20 strength with accurate test strips prior to use.

    • 17. Is reusable equipment cleaned properly (Critical)?
      • Nail clippers and cuticle nippers that operator indicated were clean had dead skin debris and nail debris.Ensure that all semi-critical tools are visibly cleaned with soap and water, air dried before submersion in high-level disinfectant.
    • 20. Is reusable equipment disinfected properly?
      • 1. Alcohol was being used for the disinfection of semi-critical tools. High-level disinfectant must be used for semi-critical tools at all times. Obtain high-level disinfectant, and clean and disinfect all tools in facility. 2. Waxing scissors and tweezers were visibly soiled. Scissors and tweezers were being disinfected with alcohol. Clean and disinfect with at minimum a low level disinfectant, that has a DIN or NPN, after each client.

      • 1. Wax pot was left dirty between clients, wax was on the surrounding surfaces and lid of the pot. Clean wax pot between each client. 2. Container holding waxing supplies: tweezers, scissors, eyebrow spoolie - was visibly soiled with hair and dust. Frequently clean and disinfect containers that hold clean tools.
