- - The staff members were unable to demonstrate adequate diapering procedures. - Please ensure all the staff members understand the importance of adequate diapering procedures especially disinfecting the surfaces and handwashing before and after diaper change.

- - Handwashing sink in the back washroom was not equipped with paper towels. - Please ensure handwashing sinks are equipped with soap, paper towels, hot and cold running water for effective handwashing.

- - Broom was being stored on the counter with the water bottles and bibs. - Please ensure once the broom is used, it is then put away where it is inaccessible to children and not stored close to such items resulting in contamination.

- 11. Are parent provided foods being properly handled and stored to ensure the safety of clients in this social care facility?
- The battery needs to be replaced in the fridge thermometer. Recommend having a spare battery on hand. The fridge was a bit warm during the inspection ~6 C however it had been opened and closed to put in the children's lunches. Please monitor. OUTSTANDINGI did observe utensils, cup and bowl being dried on a towel. There should be no dishes (children should be bringing their own utensils etc.) and disposable dishes should be used when cutlery is forgotten. Towels are not permitted for drying dishes on; drying rack should be used. CORRECTED

- As discussed, paper towel must be in a covered dispenser in the washroom. There can be up to a 5-foot spray when the toilet is flushed; paper towel sitting on the back of the toilet tank may become contaminated. OUTSTANDING

- 05. Are communicable diseases at this facility being properly managed?
- Staff advised that there is an illness policy and if a child is not feeling well, they will be sent home. They do have a working thermometer for verifying a child's temperature via the ear. Advised children's temperatures are taken however it is not being recorded. I would recommend that if a child is coughing more than normal or has a running nose that their temperature be verified and recorded in a log-book for due diligence.
