      • Pool operator indicated that they do not have the Pool Operator Certificate and management has plans to ensure the course is taken. Pool operator indicated that in the interim a certified pool operator in the next hotel is able to help. Ensure that a pool operator certificate is obtained and a copy of the certificate is provided to the public health inspector for review.

      • Total alkalinity was measured at 34ppm and not within the required range (60-180 ppm).Ensure that the chemical water parameters meet the required parameters indicated in the Pool Standards.

      • Filtration rate was measured at 18.3 GPM/sq ft, which was above the required maximum filtration rate of 15 GPM/sq ft. Investigate and ensure that the maximum filtration rate of a high rate sand filter is below 15 GPM/sq ft.

      • Water clarity was observed poor and dust like particles floating on the surface of the water. Operator indicated the circulation of the water was not consistently working. Investigate and ensure that the circulation system including the filtration and disinfection systems are functional.
    • 10. Are general nuisance conditions, other than those noted in other violations, being prevented at this pool (Non-Critical)?
      • Debris including hair, gum, and hair was observed in the gutter drain between the emergency exit and pool. Clean the gutter drain. It is recommended to clean increase the cleaning frequency of the gutter drain.
    • 12. Are the general safety devices and physical conditions in this pool providing a safe environment (Critical)?
      • Suction outlet covers were stated expired on the Anti-entrapment plans and operator stated it has not been changed.Outlet covers were observed in free of cracks at the time of inspection.Replace the suction outlet covers and update the anti-entrapment plans.Provide PHI with specifications of the obtained suction outlet covers.

      • Records of the manual temperature water reading and automatic chemical readings are not kept.Ensure that operating records are maintained and kept, including pool water temperature and automatic chemical readings.

      • The latest water sample had an unsatisfactory result with heterotrophic plate count of 600 CFU/mL.Facility operator was instructed to raise the free available chlorine, run the water through the circulation system for at least 4-6 hours, adjust the water chemistry, and resample.Note: Resample was taken on July 3, 2024.
