      • Used nail clippers and cuticle clippers were observed stored on manicure stations with a rubber cover on the cutting side. These items were removed from the manicure station during the inspection. Ensure that contaminated reusable equipment is transported to the reprocessing area after use. The contaminated equipment must be kept separate from clean equipment to prevent accidental reuse.

      • There is a build up of nail dust and other debris at the manicure stations. Ensure that the manicure stations are cleaned on a regular basis. Recommend staff clean the station after every shift or at least once a week.

      • There is a build up of nail dust and other debris at the manicure stations. Ensure that the manicure stations are cleaned on a regular basis. Recommend staff clean the station after every shift or at least once a week.

      • There were no test strips available to measure the high-level disinfectant used at the facility. Ensure that valid test strips are acquired that staff are trained to measure the concentration on a daily basis.

      • When speaking with a staff member about assessing a client prior to offering a service, they were unable to explain what questions they ask. The PHI instructed the operator that all staff must be able to assess clients prior to offering a service which may cause the client harm. The PHI instructed the operator to train staff on basic point-of-service risk assessment prior to allowing them to work on a client.
