      • Facility was dispensing open donuts: --An open twelve pack of Farmer's Market Glazed Donuts with a BBD of June 20, 2025 was stored on the front cashier counter. The package was open and 7/12 donuts remained. CDI: operator instructed to discard the donuts. Reviewed the facility permit restrictions. Discussed that dispensing open foods is a violation of the permit restrictions. The facility is restricted to pre-packaged foods only.

    • 02. Is all food in this facility from an approved source and/or properly labelled?
      • June 4, 2025: 12 cases of Ensure nutritional supplement beverages were found in the storage room. Several individual bottles of Ensure nutritional supplement beverage were found in the display cooler. Owner indicated that these were the same Ensure products that were on-site at the April 2, 2025 inspection and that they were obtained from random individuals.April 2. 2025: Several boxes of Ensure nutritional supplement beverages had shipping labels to various Edmonton pharmacies on them. The owner admitted that he purchases them from random patrons and did not have receipts to show where they were purchased from. REQUIRED ACTION: Obtain products from approved sources only and keep receipts. Discard products purchased from unapproved sources. Receipts must be available upon request for review at future inspections.

      • June 4, 2025: mouse droppings were still present on the floor along the perimeter of the storage room. No pest control devices were noted during the inspection.April 2, 2025: Some mouse droppings were noted in the following areas:-in the large storage room on the floor in the southwest corner and along the north wall-in the small storage room close to the backdoor in the southwest cornerREQUIRED ACTION: clean and sanitize these areas as discussed during the inspection. Implement pest control program including monitoring/capture devices, and maintain written records/checklist to document pest control activities. Keep written records on-site and produce upon request at future inspections.

      • June 4, 2025: the storage rooms are still cluttered, with unused equipment still present. April 2, 2025: Unused equipment/clutter was found in the large storage room (e.g. coffee brewing equipment, hot dog roller, kettle), and a dirty, white domestic refrigerator was located just outside the large storage room.REQUIRED ACTION: remove any unused equipment. Organize the storage room to facilitate cleaning and inspection. Clean the refrigerator interior.

      • Three boxes of strawberry Ensure supplement beverages were found to be past their expiration dates of Feb. 1, 2025.Approximately 7 bottles of Coffee Crisp milk beverage had best before dates of March 8, 2025.REQUIRED ACTION: discard all Ensure nutritional supplement beverages and Coffee Crisp milk beverages that have past their expiration/best before dates dates. Check dates on boxes and bottles regularly and discard as required.

      • A mattress was found in the large back storage room where coffee supplies were stored.REQUIRED ACTION: remove mattress from premises.
